Here's some news for GMac, apparently the Council are looking at getting rid of the Tennis Courts at Walker Park. The council have figures that show participation rates at the Tennis Club are well down, however, on closer inspection somehow the Council have used numbers gathered during the first year of Covid.
Isn't it the MFG during footy season.Just read the Master Plan for Walker Park posted at the Whitehorse Council in November and if this happens even you will be calling Walker Park the "MCG of the EAST"
Club has put a lot of work off field to update our facilities over the last 15 years plus with success.
The future of the tennis club there is a worry but hopefully something can be sorted out for them.

You seem to be very interested in Whitehorse monthly council meetings, lol.Isn't it the MFG during footy season.
I've seen it, and the report that the redevelopment of Nunawading’s Walker Park was met with a tepid response from local sporting clubs at a recent council meeting. What was discussed at tonight's meeting was that the Walker Ward, has the largest number of dogs of any Ward in Whitehorse. It is also the only Ward in Whitehorse without an off leash dog park. It looks like it is possible Walker Park will become an off leash dog park.
The excuse when they removed the tennis courts near the Nunawading Station was that there were other nearby courts at Walker Park.
Pity the poor old pigeon club's demise, can't be too may left. They will need to get Bill Lawry out the front with a protest sign.
