I think a bit of the media bias is very evident:

SMH: League heads sport, AFL is second.

The Age: Three sections on AFL, then Horseracing, Soccer, Tennis, Cricket, Basketball, Golf, Gymnastics, Motorsports, Cycling, Drugs in Cycling, then rugby league then "Leaping Larry L"

http://www.theage.com.au/sport/
I just checked, tonight's win by the storm is the 46th headline on The Age's sport page...

It's a pretty sad reflection on Victorian psyche that they still cannot get behind their team even when it makes the grand final. Brisbane and Sydney take pride in supporting their AFL teams but Melbourne takes pride in not supporting their NRL team.

Perhaps 'The Stone Age' would be more of an appropriate title for that rag.

But Melbourne's the sports capital of the universe:rolleyes:

In the year 3535, or was it 7575 - BC that is. Whatever the case, the Sumerians don't exist, yet!

Same old tripe from you...

Heraldsun (the only paper that matters in this town) has four pages on the Storm including the back page and a double page spread in the sports lift-out, before yesterdays AFL game review. Last nights TV ratings were healthy and even the Sunday (AFL) footy show started with a Storm flavor with panelist dressed in Storm gear.

Have we redeemed ourselves?

The age doesn't care about NRL, it is a sponsor of the melbourne victory and spends more time on soccer.

Relative to Sydney who couldn't attract 30,000 to a Bulldogs (2nd) v Broncos (3rd) preliminary final, yeah we are.

Well, I just spent the week in Bateman's Bay, which is pretty much St george territory. Let me say, that you wouldn't have even known the Dragons' opponents. Nothing about Storm all week.

True, all Saints all the time, but they do have heaps on RL news down here, so even when they are raving about the Dragons, they mention their opposition a little ;)

Been bloody good weather down here lately too, might have to get the old fishing gear out.:thumbsu:
