Old Scotch barely got out of 1st gear last Saturday from all reports, played one of their worst games all year. Stepped it up in the last quarter when it needed to be won.

I agree that Uni are on the rise, will definately have a good go at the top 4 teams before seasons end. Their coach though has no idea, flodded their backline in the last quarter and had no one to kick it to upfield. The ball got sent down there that many times it was almost a certainty that Old Scotch were going to kick enough goals to get over the line.

Hmm, well, I heard from a source of mine that they are a rough chance of finals action in the Seniors. They'll need to rely on a lot of cards falling their way between now and then for that to happen, like Evandale to beat St Pats (which isn't as odd as it sounds) and Uni to beat Tamar Cats. Uni will have their best side on the park in about 2 weeks time after they get the Uni kids back.

If St Pats hold on to fifth, as they should do, their wins against Fingal and Tamar early in the year were the difference.

NUmber 28 for Uni-mowbray reserves looks to be the goods this year.. Playing his 3rd game this week..

Forward flanker Busts through tackles, head over the ball Nice kick for goal.. Only kicked 2 goals in his first 2 matches but has given a few away.. great to see some young talent come in... I'll be sure to watch him play when they take on st, pats at st pats At 12 pm on a saturday arvo

wouldn't put money on him wearing the number 28 this week, not with VC big chris slavin returning from a 4 week holiday! slot him straight back into the number 28... your young blokes gonna have to raffle off a jumper, only god knows what number he'll wear

is good to see some young talent for the eagles, especially with a list that changes every year..

Perhaps I missed something over the last few weeks?? But I'll be sure to take particular notice this weekend.

I'll also be sure to watch Jobe Harper tear it up @ 2pm. There's some real young talent.

Looks like the flag will be a 3 horse race, with Perth being massively depleted with long term injuries last week, therefore it is down to Fingal, Tamar and Old Scotch. I dont think St Pats have a chance at an upset, too many passengers.

Fingal have looked the goods at the business end of the season, Tamar the same and with the big forwards down there will always cause backlines some trouble. Old Scotch has failed to beat both of these sides this year, which must be playing on their minds a little.

I honestly think any of those 3 can win the flag, I think it will come down to who plays better on the day.

Would be interested to hear others thoughts?

as a div 2 player and avid watcher.....your comments are spot on.perth will fall by the wayside with long term injuries to key players.fingal, tamar and old scotch the definate favs. i think fingal will defeat tamar in the final..i think old scotch may lack the physical aspect needed to win the flag..but if they get their running game going..they are capable of causing a upset...scotchies in the reserves easily.

St Pats are too inconsistent, a far cry from their rounds 1 and 2 wins against Tamar and Fingal on their patch. Let's be honest there is something going wrong when you win by 17 points in Round 1 and then get slaughtered by 180+

Agree with the top 3, that won't change unless Old Scotch lose to Evandale and Perth can beat Fingal (both are unlikely).
As I said at the start of the season, Tamar Cats are the x-factor, especially if their forward line switches on while Fingal and Old Scotch aren't too far behind in regards to goalkicking power.

In regards to who can win it, I'll go Fingal by a nose to defeat Old Scotch. The pressure and expectation to win could prove the Cats downfall.

And here's a stat for you: If Fingal did lose to Perth, there would have been 10 ladder changes at the top of the table this season, which is unheard of!

Reserves: Old Scotch definite favorites, saw them tear St Pats apart at the NTCA not so long back. Other sides like Perth, Fingal and OL's will make the numbers up.

Congrats to Fingal for smashing Tamar in the seniors and Old Scotch for going back-to-back in the reserves.

Any opinions on whether the cats will try and buy a premiership again next year, will the Barron boys be staying around do you reckon or will they chase the cash at another club?

ken's aim is to coach every team in the comp. at least once........

Yeah forgot he coached Campbell Town about 6-7 years ago..., won premierships, flocked off to Perth, took a number of players with him...hmm what's next...?
Just hope he takes a pill to control his blood pressure...gets a fair bit out of control especially in finals.

Any info on player movements or coaching appointments in the NTFA. I was considering coming out of retirement to play and was wondering who might be coaching where. Was tempted to put in for a job myself but couldn't committ the time.

Perth are in the hunt for a new coach, so are OL's after they had 2 coaches leave the club this season. Not sure whether Baron will stay around at Tamar or chase some more coin somewhere else...

Green is contracted for another year at Scotch, same as Kirby at Uni-Mowbray, and I reckon Chappell will stay at Fingal (congrats to him for being selected as the coach of the year). Not sure about Powell at Evandale.

Scotch sound like a good club to play with going on what some of the posters have said to me, seems like Green runs a good ship there also and best facilities in the league, division 1 included. Should have a chance at a flag also in the next couple of years, seem to be building towards something down there.

I do know a few people at Scotch and they had asked me to play. Probably would be the place i'd play if i do play again, although i did play with Mowbray when they were in div 1 and enjoyed my time there. The problem is with Uni is the team is so transient that there isn't one player left from when i played their 10 or so years ago. Do you kow who St Pats have appointed coach?

Forgot about St Pats..... Easy to do!! not sure who is going to be coaching up there, could be anyones guess.

St.Pats has appointed Bridgenorths senior coach from last year, not sure of his name, maybe K. Mitchell?
