Port and the Crows showing interest on Keeler as part of their Nas push.
He'd be a good fit for us as a ruck/forward option.

They actually had priority access to him under NGA but chose not to use it. Strange decision, he was a good prospect at the time and is showing a bit for the Saints this year too. I'd be more than happy to have him at Port too, with or without Nas.So Keeler, another player the crows could have drafted but didn't.

Might like St Kilda?RIP Lord.
Yep i think a high % of players who stay re-sign within a couple of weeks of their bye round. As you said boak and i think Travis Cloke are the only 2 i remember that waited until the end of the season and ended up staying.if he is staying at St Kilda i reckon it will be announced soon, players don't often let it drag out until the end of the year, which is why it is normally assumed that they are gone if it gets to the end of the year and they still haven't signed a new contract. Ditto Bergman.
Perhaps they are both going to wait and see how Port and St Kilda finish the year, if either team completely turns to shit it could play a part but normally they would've already made a decision by now.
I think Boak in 2012 is the only big name signing that went down to the 11th hour. There were a lot of variables at play then though.

So the same applies to Bergman, been 2 weeks since our bye and crickets, so the chances of him staying are pretty slim i'd say going by past history.
Signed extension at end of June 2023. lets hope history repeats!Didn't Bergman wait and then sign on last time?

i think it was straight after the bye though. We our now nearly 3 weeks since the bye.Signed extension at end of June 2023. lets hope history repeats!
Correct, we had the bye weekend of 22-25 June, so basically the next week he extended. So not a great sign, glass half full would say this is a much longer extension so may need to take more time, but history suggests it doesnt look greati think it was straight after the bye though. We our now nearly 3 weeks since the bye.

Sweet baby Jeebus, I made the mistake of looking at a couple of threads in the trading board. There seem to be some crows supporters who consider themselves experts on Port's list. It's like Bay 13 in there.
He's the 2nd coming if you hadn't heard. Amazing how when we're in a race for the player they become the greatest thing since sliced bread. Meanwhile, our guns become worth a few late fourth rounders.
Any chance next year's first and this year's second or am I dreaming?
Nasiah will want to play with his mates surely.
Why would you go over to the Cows when you can eat frozen yoghurt with Jase and Jason.
2025 - Nasiah
2026 - Dougie
2027 - Pilot, Rodan, Salopek, Tambe
That would be ridiculous.
Carr would not be wanting for talent.
Interesting comments re-Saints having 5 indigenous players, second only to GC with 6.
I thought Port had:
Burgoyne
Rioli
Finlayson
Cochrane
JHF
Barrett
Jones
so 7.
If we draft Rome this year, that's 8.
If we get NWM then it's 9.

You really need to give his full name!Burgoyne
Rioli
Finlayson
Cochrane
JHF
Sam Powell-Pepper-Barrett
Jones

I’d say the chances of a top 10 player on our list being pushed out in a trade are pretty remote. Drew is everything we want a Port player to be.Would Drew be on the trade table? contracted until 2028 as UFA, might get pushed out of middle and tagging if Bergs stayed on. Yes he's clearly a loyal port player and solid player & person in general. His juniors footy was Koroit footy club AKA saints red white and black.
If Ross wants players more so, and Drewy decided to do it, throw Soldo and another in or a 2nd pick & future 3rd or something for NWM and Keeler package. Or add Sinn to the deal.
Honestly be good to keep Bergs AND get NWM plus Keeler.
Drew vs Steele there’s not all that much in it.Drew is just about the most St Kilda player on our list. Anonymous, vanilla, and unathletic, just a decent footballer. He could be their next captain.
