So has seen where
He doesn't hit free agency in 2 years. Would be another trade situation.

Seems like he's seen enough of Port and happy to have a look at us go for the next two years, also same with the Saints. Good call really on his part - he's young.

Carr (and the board) has 2 years to get our trajectory and club direction upwards, otherwise he'll stay at the Saints i reckon.

Chewy or Addy could probably answer this one the best.

My understanding was that the player in question nominates a team and then the two clubs get together to broker a deal. I thought they were kinda separate entities.

With all the tattlings, it seems the deals are front and square which is not how I thought it worked.

Glad to see this result.
Saints get two years to win him over, we get two years to build a war chest and trade capital.
Do it all again in 2027.

Quite a surprising result this late in the season, but good on them. Much better than yesterday's 'at time of writing' scoop he was going to the crows.

The Saints' recent run of close wins building some positive culture, versus Port's compete, probably played a pretty big part.

Now we need to look more to the draft over the next few years. Absolutely cannot be trading out future firsts to ultimately end up with B and C graders.

Good on nas on his loyalty wouldn't surprise if he signs on for another 2 after this then comes to us at free agency in 4 years. At least now we can concentrate on pilot and dougie. Crows are the big losers 'apparently' they were the preferred option if he left the saints. The crows are having a bad day

Oh great. Now I have to sit through St Kilda games to see him play.

Well done to him though, he is playing unbelievable footy at the Saints and is obviously happy there football wise. It would have been foolish to not continue that at the same club given his age.

We didnt have the capital anyway, if we didnt give away our first probably a different scenario. Chalk it up to the piss blasting admin again. Was off the table as soon as Bergman re-signed.

it'll probably be Bergman/Nas trade in two years anyway.

Sort of pleased we dont have to give up anything at the moment and give Josh a bit of time to work shit out.

No bridges burned, parked for two years, maybe even one.
