Well it's not unexpected. Pretty sure he wants to come to Port, but we don't have the capital to do the trade this year. Hence why he only signed a two year deal. A lot could happen in the next 1-2 years, like will Butters stay or leave next year? Bergman in two years? Will Port be a bottom four team? etc.. Better for him to wait and see.
But $30 million for 12 years if that's true, holy

I don't actually believe it was that Port couldn't convince him. some idiot saints people on here saying where is C4 but I believe there was actually talks going on. Cal Twomey kept saying Port are in it and guess who breaks the real factual news? cal Twomey. So IMO Nas did want to leave but somewhere near the end whether it's all the pressure and the talks with people like Gil putting more on him and probably saying the trade cannot get done etc etc because Port don't have what ever they (Victorian club) are wanting.. so he stayed on an highly paid 2 year only deal with no triggers of extension or anything else that I've been made aware of. I'm sure of there was trigger clauses in there for longer Cal Twomey would of said it but seeing as he only mentioned 2 years, that's either Nas and manager stating he'll be gone in 2 years and/or possibly it's to see how saints go in that period. Either way, Nas gets paid top dollar. would of been a lot of other clauses in this contract to benefit Nas and his family though. But Port definitely were in this all the way. Not Crows. Guaranteed on that one. Good luck to them. If they rise, they rise, but I just can't see it. They've had a strong healthy list predominantly all season bar 1 Max King who has never showed any case of being a good player or key forward IMO and they've finished bottom of the barrel and all they are getting at this stage is an over priced TDK whilst he's good he also did get beaten overall by Sweet. Ports had a beyond terrible year admittedly.. but I've always loved these saints fans and Ross the toss going on about saints being a young side even lying in a presser saying they were younger then Tigers in that game but they weren't 🤦 Yet ports whole team and new crop is younger without Boak in the team, also the same team overall except Dixon and Houston that made finals last year. I've got more faith in Port bouncing back and contending then I do with saints making the finals.
what a guess tho. Average age of the list with baok = 24.55 years - w/o 24.28. Our current list 24.49. So technically (best type) you are correct. About the age not the rest of the dribble tbf

The rest of the "dribble" is correct too. But cheers for accepting facts that a lot of saints supporters can't seem to do. Has annoyed me a lot this season with "young saints" like it did last season with "young hawks" meanwhile the team finishing top 4 and finals contending last year and prior etc.. were a young list and younger than Hawks yet crickets from the media. No difference to media not giving a crap about ports injuries this season meanwhile Collingwood last season had injuries and had a poor year.

Will be an interesting watch over the next couple of years. Hard to imagine his trade value getting any higher than it is currently and you'd certainly hope we have more draft capital + are a more appealing destination by 2028.

I'd like to see us focus on building a more even list over the next couple of seasons - via internal development, attrition of our deadwood and supplemented by a decent first 22 recruit or 2 if possible. Stockpiling elite talent at the expense of solid mid-tier first 22 players doesn't win flags.

Disappointing that we couldn't land him but it seems the Saints have worked extremely hard to sway him plus $$$. But with every star player signing for 5 plus years, him signing for only 2 tells me he is coming back. Wonder if C4 will have any info on how it all played out. That would be a good read.
Anyway suck a fat turd Jon Ralph. You're not sucking me in again. Cnut

I'm glad he's staying at the Saint TBH.

We can keep Butters who's more important and bid for our NGA's..

You'd think they'll up their offer to Butters significantly now, but I'm not convinced he's going to stay. His mum in particular has been trying to get him home for years.

Ralph is a w***er. Not highly regarded by the average football punter in Victoria as I understand it.

Disappointing but the fact that he only signed for 2 years (with trigger for extension) plus not going to Crows shows that we are still in his mind in the future.

Whether he comes to us or stays with Saints I will look forward to it.

Its just pure math's about age, cant change much about that. I don't know your actual playing 22 to calculate that however.
