What to do, what to do?

He played very well last night, but can we afford to have him and Ball in the same team against Fremantle at Subiaco?

If he does get dropped it will the tough but right call, I don't think that we can afford to have him and Luke in the same team on the big wide open Subiaco.

It's going to be a hard week at the selection table for the coaches.

Thoughts?

Totally agree.

Wellinghams pace is important and no other players seem obvious options to drop unless some niggles and the 6 day break mean they need a rest.

In what way did he play well? He got a bunch of it on a half forward flank, but his ball use was poor, he is slow as bat shit. Tarkyn Lockyer would have been a far superior option, as at least he is a pretty good user of the ball, and a better bet to kick more goals. O'Bree's only useful position is on the ball, having him as a forward flanker against a decent team will be a liability.

He played OK, I guess, can't say he was all that impressive.

In terms of team balance you'd have to say there's only space for one of either Ball or O'Bree, and Ball is clearly better. Wellingham will come into the team next week and give our midfield an extra dimension that O'Bree obviously doesn't offer.

I think he will only be rotated in and out of the team in the case of one of our mids being sore or injured. He's no longer a part of our best 22.

Watching the game from the stands, there were times where he looked very slow with his disposal and it cost the team big time. I'd still have him out of the side next week for Wellingham. I'd also leave Wood in for Fraser.

Drop him.

Brad Scott was our midfield coach for the last 3 years or so. So, as Pendles said "we will get to know who he rated and who he didn't"...

He let Shane O'Bree run totally loose last night around the centre and half forward flank because he knows how utterly useless, and not-damaging he can be with the ball.

Got a bit of it last night, but was ultimately made to look good in a dominant side, with no match up.

Clearly not in our best 22. In fact, not in the 25.
