Sheedy has arranged the teamsheets to record himself as the coach for the day rather than O'Donnell. Sad, but reflective of Sheedys motives.

Well he is in the coaches box, just not addressing the team at the breaks. I'd assume he's still coaching.;)

You are really an idiot at times ! It is one thing to have an opinion about where his coaching is at and if its finished. Thats fair enough , but no you have to question the motives of a bloke you dont even know and obviously havnt met!
If he is this huge ego maniac you seem to think he is then why does he say hello to me whenever we cross paths at training or spend 5 minutes or so chatting to me or various other people during the year? If he was this huge ego driven bloke he wouldnt bother acknowleding me or anyone else. I am simply a fan who gets to see training at least once a week so i wouldnt expect he should go out of his way to say hello but he does.

Calm down dill- why don't you address the main point- G O'D was asked if he was coaching the team even though he wasn't on the sheet and he said he knew in his heart that he would be the coach today. The motive of Sheedy to do that is questionable imo, and so is coaching. Incidentally, I have met Sheedy many times and so have others that I know.

Hes defintely NOT an egomaniac. One of the nicest gentleman you'll ever meet in your lifetime. If anything, he gets slighty embarrassed by the public adulation. And lets not forget his Zig n Zag impersonations

Was Sheedy in the Box ? is he still the senior coach ?
End of story. You have just managed to twist it around to suit your belief that Sheeds shouldnt be the coach.
Storm in a tea cup mean anything to you?

I would have thought Kev had better things to do before the game than to fill out the team sheet.

Agree- surely he should have more on his mind than making sure his record was intact, unfortunately not.

Proof that even we have fools for supporters

Hey Kel, you should stick to cheering for a Bombers loss, which is the ultimate act of a fool.

I think you missed the point.

Sheedy would have gone nowhere near the teamsheet. Why would he and why does it matter?

Thats funny,

Every website, news report and newspaper article from the weekend had O'Donnell as our caretaker coach. Someone mustve forgotten to pass the memo to the AFL record for the week. Maybe we can organise a live feed from surgeons to statictians everytime a coach requires a leave of absence from a game.

In a word....petty!

Quite possibly.

Obviously you're a Sheedy hater and will try and knive him in the back any way you can even if if makes no sense at all.

You are obviously a Sheedy fan- I was only passing on info that I came across, and when this piece of trivial garbage was being made a mockery of by some media experts before the game - the fact Sheedy was making a point of it was sad to hear- change your ways pal and never wish for a loss- unless you enjoy oblivion.

Yes, he's consistently been the best coach of the past 25 years and we have the the best team. You have to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I think if we finish rock bottom then we will play finals next year with the way the draft will pan out.

If we finish second last i think we can hope for 12-14th next year, 10-12th the year after and then maybe finals.... maybe.

Would you rather finish last and have the indignity of the wooden spoon but have a better chance of playing finals next year or would you rather avoid the spoon and have a longer rebuilding process?

How can finishing one spot higher stop us playing finals for 2-3 years?

Geez that's ridiculous. We won't be playing finals till at least 2009 no matter how the rest of 2006 pans out.

Wow.

Many pundits had us as a top 8 team this year. Barring injury and some luck we could have been there.

I'm of the opinion that if we get a good pickup in the PSD - Rischettelli, etc ( good young midfielder), a Gibbs in the Draft, and a trade for a Akermanis, Salopek, Adelaide kid, etc then we can be a finals side again.

Thats why i think it's best to finish last as we can bargain better for the above.

We need to try and win another premiership before the window ends for Lloyd, Lucas, Fletcher, Johnsons in 3 years.

Thats my view.

See my reply above.

A good season injury wise and we are not that far off being a top 8 side.

Add the right draft picks and it becomes even more of a possibility.

I don't think we'll finish last anyway. We'll beat Brisbane this week then one of Richmond, Hawthorn or even Collingwood or the Dogs. That will get us past Carlton.

I think they'll ALL be there in 3 years time. In regards to the PSD, the top 20 will be all capable, let alone the top 3.

My view. I predicted 10th-12th this year, when Lloyd went down, bottom 4 easy. Looking forward, 11th-13th in 2007 even with Lloyd and Hird. 9th-12th in 2008 and possibly 2009, finals maybe in 2009 or 2010, but that's all so far off there's little point discussing it really.

Our premiership window won't come for a long time and Sheedy wont claim the 5th flag (at Essendon) he so needs and desires. If 3 years is the window for those guys, then they have no chance. Lloyd might snag one at the end of his career, but Sheedy should have moved on by then. I would love for Sheedy to coach another club and win a flag for them, and the obvious candidate is St Kilda. I think his contract coincides with Grant Thomas. Be great to see the two premiership coaches at the Saints as Allan Jeans and Kevin Sheedy.
