Guys, i posted a thread about this like a month ago when i found out that she was 8 months pregnant in August. I never really thought it would happen though.

If he has to miss the game what are we going to do? Bring Chambers in? Okay, i did not just say that.

I'm kinda freaking out.. Deanne has got to push that baby out within the next few days.. PLEASE. Or wait until a few days after the GF.

Makes me sick thinking that there's even a chance he'd miss. I honestly be pretty angry if he did. I'm not a parent so maybe i'm overstepping the line but he'd really be letting the club down. But in saying that i guess if he missed the birth of his child to play football then he'd be letting his family down so yeah.

Pleasseee pop out like today baby Jolly.

Ah, thinking the worst here that he can't play i think that Bevan would probably be bought back in the team and they'd put LRT in the ruck. Maybe Adam in for a while if needed.

Pray that it won't be needed, we need Darren.

Incredibly, incredibly selfish and arrogant.

Darren Jolly is paid a lot of money to play football, and the hopes and dreams of his mates and tens of thousands of fans will rest to a significant degree on his shoulders. That he has even suggested that he might abandon the team in this of all weeks is enough for me to question his right to play for this club.

I'm straight off the overnight coach after going to Sydney. If I can cope with 10 hours sleep across three nights just to see my team play for the chance to be in the Grand Final, he can jolly well put up with missing his wife's labour to play in one.

I might sound hard-hearted, but this is not any ordinary day to miss work. He has made a commitment to his mates, his club and his fans. I expect him to honour it and I would consider his place on the list to be unwarranted if he lets us down.

Gawd. I've been waking up feeling ill with nerves every day for a week now. This is all I need.

Fantastic new for Jolls on having the kid. But....

Arghnesss... i was watching Sunrise this morning. One person e-mailed and claimed that it was the Club's trainers and commitee's fault... the person said they should ban the players from having sex during december and janurary! LOL....

but, omg... i'm just soo... cut. We need Jolly, and please don't bring in Chambers... Goodesy or LRT can fill in. :p

Lmfao, we're they being serious?

I'm staying positive and really thinking he will play. I think the media just want to make something from hardly anything.

I reckon it's something. Deanne said it herself, that they should 'prepare for the worst'. Didn't she also say that her family usually has a trend and that their babies come 2 weeks earlier??? oh dear... i just hope Deanne can hold it on.. or just pop it out... =.=

OH guys, this is getting frustrating... i was reading some article. Kirky is gonna have twins soon... wtf. Okay, our seniors have alot of time in their hands during Dec/Jan. But please.. hold in your babies till next week.. or just get the knife.... :P

"We have a big family - 14 grandkids, 16 great grandkids. We're a very lucky family. And Brett's wife Hayley is about to have twins. I rang him on Friday and told him, 'Don't let it happen next week'. He laughed.

"Oh, and when you see Brett, tell him to keep off the grog till after the game next week, would you?"

You dont own him Charlie.

I realise that. The club, however, has paid a lot of good money to have him this week. In this of all weeks, he belongs to Paul Roos, to his teammates and to his football club.

I do not demand too much from the Swans. I only expect them to go out there on the weekend and give it all they can to win the game. I don't give a damn about anything else they do.

If it was a home and away match, I'd be angry but would accept his decision. I realise as much as anyone that players are ordinary men with family commitments. But I DO expect them to have only one thing on their mind when the team is playing in a Grand Final.

Jolly has already abused the club's trust merely by speaking out and casting uncertainty over our preparation yet again. He can redeem himself by taking the field and beating Cox on the weekend. If he's not there, I never want to see him in red and white again... and I hope Roos feels the same.

No he doesnt Charlie. You of all people I would expect to understand this.

As you know, Skipper, I put a high premium on meeting ones commitments. Jolly seems to think he can abandon his and put the dreams of everybody at his footy club in jeopardy.

For the sake of his wife's sensibilities he is willing to cost the club - which gave him the opportunity to play regular footy in the first place - its shot at history. He simply doesn't have the right to do that.

Well I still think the chances of the baby arriving on the same day as the GF are minimal.

She'd have to go into labour on Fri or Sat for him to leave the camp, fly back to Sydney and miss the game. So we could be talking about 2 days out of a 10 to 15 day window. My maths is shi*te but that's still not quite what you'd call a statistical certainty.

Still. With a baby on the way, the stresses of a Grand Final will be nothing for Jolls. It'll be the easy part of his week. :)

Have you thought for one minute that maybe he wants to be present at what he might deem to be one of the most significant events in his life.

Get some perspective Charlie. Its a game of bloody football. Its not life or death.

Of course I want Jolly to play and most likely he will, but to deny him choice and for you to say he must put his work before his family goes again everything I have ever heard from you.

Have you thought for one minute that Nick Malceski, Jarrad McVeigh, Ted Richards and Stephen Doyle might want the best possible opportunity to live their dreams? That to do so, they will almost certainly need Darren Jolly in the middle?

That's the point. If it was all about him and his wife, I wouldn't have a problem. But he will hurt too many others if he doesn't play.

Compromise. Can't she have the kid in the dressing rooms at the game. We have got a top notch medical department

That could be a great inspiration. They could chop up the cord into 22 pieces and where it as arm bands.

You'd think a ceromonial sharing of the placenta at half time would be on the cards as well, Skip. Be good for vitamin replacement as well.

Let her have it on the bench. He'll know exactly when to run off to watch the birth. The Swans players will be ready for it, whilst the Eagles will get very distracted and let Swans run away with the victory! ;)

Put it up on the big screen at half time. Lets all share
