So did we. Collo struck a deal with Demitrispew that if Carlton came clean over all their inside deals the punishments would be minimal. That's why we forced Silvagni and Bradley etc to open up (otherwise the AFL would never have got them to confess), only for Dimwit to turn around and shaft us over Evans's orders.

I wouldn't bother Jase, only 2 options here; they either don't believe half of what they post or they seriously are too simple to understand it.

I don't think any Essendon supporter would deny the indiscretions. We welcomed (IIRC) an investigation whereas Carlton denied it the whole time, which is why the difference in penalties were so large.

The biggest difference at the time of each clubs were the presidents.
I think the league would have found out about the breaches & asked each club if they wanted to come clean & face less penalties.
Essendon chose to come clean & admit it.
Carlton or more accurately John Elliott decided to lie & deny. Because of the lies the AFL penalised Carlton massively. Elliott thought he WAS Carlton and had too much influence which ensured the lies continued.
It's probably unfair to just use Elliott as a scapegoat & blame him for it all but the other Carlton board members probably let Elliott get away with a lot & they are responsible too.
Fortunately Ian Collins won the presidency against him & decided it was time to come clean & admit guilt & take the punishment.
I don't think there are too many sensible Carlton supporters who thought we were not deserving of the penalties as Elliott just made everything worse.
Essendon Supporters do actually act as though Carlton are the only cheats when in fact they are just as guilty. Remember we both won premierships when we were both salry cap cheating.
I don't personally know any Carlton supporters who are proud of that salary cap cheating and the penalties have been a friggin nightmare that helped make us a laughing stock.
I would be pretty embarressed & angry if Carlton do it again.
