I didn't wanna cop the contrived bullshit from the countless nuffies on that board.

However, I love my AFL but **** me, the vast majority of the supporters piss me off.

Now I'm not painting all Adelaide supporters(Or any team for that matter)with the same brush, but **** me are a lot of those guys(and women) immature! Sitting in the outter, my girlfriend and I experienced early attempts to be made to fell intimidated.
Weak, indirect, sideways comments because we were in earshot.
Every time we cheered or whatever else we'd cop this, if not, death stares.

It's just ****ing ridiculous, really.

By the time the last quarter came around, I'd had enough of being antagonized and bit back.
I was being mimicked(In a girls voice) by some grey haired, wrinkly, old ****, offended about his team getting their ass handed to them.
So I said to him, "What's your problem, mate? You're here cheering for your team on, just like I am. I have just as much right as you do, grow the **** up!!!" My Adelaide supporting mates told me to settle down, as the grey haired coot left the stadium.

If there's a point, or a question to this thread, I'd guess it would be, "What makes some supporters, so feral or one eye'd?" I don't get it!!!

Dude, you had the last laugh but one thing i will say if you do have to respect other fans sitting around you. Not saying you didn't but a lot of people don't respect other fans.

One thing that annoys me is people who have to scream in your ear. A lot of fans have no volume control.

You have to be especially careful if kids are close by.

Sorry to sound like a prude as i am definitely not. It is footy so you should know what is happening.

The missus and I have plenty of passion but you don"t hear us yelling out "BALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL" as soon as someone picks it up and gets touched, or "****ING UMPIRES, you may as well be wearing such and such's colors!!!!!!!!!!"

The missus and myself were both saying, "Good grab Tippet", "Don't know where the free kick was there"............
I just don't see why some people can or choose to be so ****ing detached from reality.

Yeah Tbone, we have plenty of respect for other supporters. Neither of us are the type to be yelling effing see's either. It was all pretty clear cut and clean from us, especially since we knew we were in the heart of the blue red and yellow..............

I remember a time when I went to the footy and everyone would be standing up in the outer....mostly blokes.... mostly working men. At Vic Park, the outer would supporters from both sides, standing beside each other. Of course, they all had a beer..

And people used to stir each other when their team kicked a goal. If the Carlton fans decided to come across town, you would tell them how much crap their side was. And oppostiion supporters used to give it to us too...

But I rarely saw many fights. Most people had brains and realised it was a game and didnt take it personally. When the siren sounded, they walked out the gate to catch the train and put up with the opposition supporters singing the club song.....

so my suggestion to you is to grow up..

Ahh, Markfs, you're so hilarious and witty. Why are you wasting your talents on a forum?

I'm not sure if you interpreted the OP correctly, but I was well measured all night. It wasn't until I was continuously antagonized that I bitt back, and even then, I was much like my Avatar. "I wasn't even mad brah".

No offence mate, but it's the football. You have to expect this from other fans or our fans. It's just the way the game is supported by neutrals and passionate fans alike, and it's what makes our game truly great.

Accept it, dish it back and cop it on the chin. It's the way it goes! Cant handle it? Then it's better off you stay home. :)

I wouldn't complain too much about it.

We (Collingwood supporters) do it to opposition supporters every week, considering we outnumber nearly everyone we play against.

Had the same thing mate. I was the only pies supporter in my area. Generally they were pretty good however there were a couple of turkeys. I did enjoy ribbing them in the last 5 minutes. I did have one idiot say "I hope your Plane crashes tomorrow" I just responded with "class mate, real class". Seriously tonight proved one thing, there are just as many ferals in other teams as others claim are in ours.

Lowest common denominator. Plenty of them out there.
I've had some great witty tiffs with opposition supporters over the years. People that are passionate about the game, and their team, but have respect for fellow lovers of the game. On the other hand, you get dicks who whinge about umpiring decisions, and trash talk everyone around them. Sad but true, they out number the good ones.

I've been to feral park a couple of times. The last time me and my 2 friends were surrounded by Croweaters. They weren't rough but they made us Pies supporters look like Switzerland.
The nuffy sitting next to me was calling every Pies player a w***er and even started mocking me. I said to my friend next to me "shit I'm getting heckled by a nut-job!". Every time the Pies got a free or the Crows didn't it was like the biggest injustice of all time. At one point after the Crows got a goal I yelled out sarcastically "That should be a free, they not allowed to kick goals!" and even some Crows supporters laughed.
Another time I went over (2008 Elimination final) I saw one of those fat tattooed guys from the cheer squad get jumped by about 12 Crows idiots. Saw him later with blood on the front of his guernsey, asked him if he was alright and he was just happy because we were winning. Don't know if he had given these guys shit or not (likely I guess) but that doesn't excuse such a weak effort to all jump him.
I met mostly decent fans over there but they definitely do have their idiots, like us and every other team. They just seem to put their need to win above intelligence at times.
