Now that's brave. He wasn't doing too badly in the VFL, and when Alessio wasn't there he was the number one ruckman.

Cartledge was second fiddle, and showed some promise, but he's still at least a year away from being AFL ready. Laycock really didn't play in the ruck in the VFL.

I hope that the coaching staff don't think that if Hille or Allan break down that Henneman is the backup.

And I wonder what sort of consequences this has for the draft...

Like Cupestar said, will we redraft him late? Will we rookie him? Or is he gone, and does that mean we are going to use #76?

The only reason we would delist a guy and then pick him up again would be to reduce our list so we have at least 3 spots available for the draft. But we already have those IIRC, so re-drafting him would not make any sense at all.

I think you might be right..it might be the only reason why this step has been taken. Can't really think of anything else to be honest.

Drinking, Gambling ,Misses or attitude problem perhaps? or maybe he's just no good but seems strange seeing as he was only young and a RUCKMAN.

I just can;t believe they delisted him. having seen him in the VFL - he easily looked the most promising ruckman we have had in quite a while. He seemed to have natural ability and if we don;t pick him up - then we are mad - having said that we are mad for dropping him.

Sometimes I feel that Essendon should explain why they have made the moves they have because - just juding by the reaction already - the fans are not happy and unless there is a bloody good explanation, won;t be happy about the decision.

cartledge is crap and if bendigo had reserves in 2003 he wouldve been playing for them

It's too early to judge him like that. He's still very young and very raw. He's got good potential, but we won't see for another year or two whether he can put the score on the board.

Don't be so quick to judge - obviously you have some sort of personal vendetta thing there given you are writing off a 17 yr old ruckman. He would have gone top 10 this year hence the reason Essendon picked him up last year. Otherwise, you would be talking about him as a promising athletic ruckman who takes a strong mark and reads the play well. Not everyone was lining up to give David Hille any plaudits in his first year, and now look where he is.
