Anyone in Melbourne going to the Showgrounds on the weekend to experience some 'traditional Bavarian Culture'?

I've already got my plastic stein hanging off my neck. Can't wait for that Dab on tap.

THinking about it - what are the details ie. cost for entry, beer and food?

I'm leaving for Okky in an hour or so (getting practice in at the moment). I also went in 1983, 1984, 1990ish, 1996, 1999 and 2000.

sorry mate I can't remember. I reckon it's around $12.00 to get in. A beer will set you back around $3.00. I think the first of the day is around $6.00 but you get to keep your plastic stein.

Don't quote me on these prices though, as I was quoting the prices strictly off the record as I was strictly off my head at the last Oktoberfest.

It's a great day and I'm hanging to drive the dodgem cars after 7-8 pints of Dab beer. (Which tastes awesome by the way).

Admission for adults is $11.

Recent years, the first full stein has cost about $10, and refills around $5 (might be 50 cents or $1 more if you refill with German beer instead of the domestic dirge).
