Well with only 3 weeks to go, I must confess to getting rather excited in anticipation for this fine event. Anyone else to be in attendance? Also looking forward to some input from those to have partook in yesteryear.

im heading over too mate from perth. i will be staying in a tent at Weis'n'camp witha couple of mates. cant wait to sink a few litres of beer by midday

I went last year, one of the best times of the my life. Did 5 nights and it was fantastic.

Try to spend more time in other tents than HofBrau if you want to get a better experience. It's mostly Germans though so you will have a great time meeting people. The fact you have to be sitting at a table to get served is actually a good thing.

And the food outside the "tents" for the munchies is awesome as well.

I am going next year! When is the best time to book accommodation? What week is the best to go? Many fine ladies?

Thanks!

Book as early as you can, it can be very difficult to get a place otherwise. Wombats Hostel is pretty good, but they don't take booking until June. I'd say at least 6 months before if you are staying somewhere else.

Mind you, a mate of mine got a place the day before, but I also know people who have slept in the park.

Try and go Monday-Friday if you can - the weekends are packed with people flying over from the UK and driving up from Italy, and a lot of the tents can be full from 2pm onwards. Midweek they are still full (I'm talking 6000 people full) but you can get in. Only really busy weekday will be Reunification day.

Ladies? Well I wasn't really looking but you won't have a problem.

Me and a mate from Adelaide are heading there wiv contiki from the 28th of sept to 2nd of oct. From wat i hear it should be awesome. Cant wait 4 the experience.

So, did anyone else end up going? Probably the best thing I have ever done in my life and well worth the thousands I probably spent during my 12 nights there. 1 week later and I'm still recovering, have barely touched a drink since.

Big beers, the best beers. Bavarian women, the BEST women. Great food. Great city. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

i spent 2 nights there and it was fantastic... spent the first day outside the HB tent as I couldn't get in to anywhere... 2nd day spent most of the day in the Hacker Tent and it was fantastic... full of germans for the mostpart...
