Does anyone know if there is a mentoring system in place for our young players? I ask because today when I was going for lunch I saw Kreuzer walking down the road with Matty Allan. I know there is a Spirit of Carlton group made up of old players but do they help out with teaching the young guys about the game.

I also think that Kreuzer could learn a lot from Allan. At his peak he was a very good tap ruckman and quite mobile too.

Yes, there is an official mentoring program at the club where past players are assigned a young player to let them know what it takes to be an AFL footballer.

It has been in operation since last year I think.

Michael Sexton commented (at the Spirit of Carlton golf day) that one of the past players has a young player who is so sensible and has his life so together the past player is going to use the young player as a mentor!

Would not surprise me if that was our young marc murphy.
