There was an old RPG type game where you could travel around and buy and sell things. (REALLY?? Yes!) I just thought of it then and now I need to remember what it was called.
Thing is, in the marketplace in towns you could haggle. But if you offered too little the merchant would remove the item from his list, so insulted was he by your paltry offer. I remember playing it and early on I saw a merchant had a ship for sale. I offered him a fraction of the price, because that's all I had, but he scrubbed it from his list. My dreams of sailing the seas, on a course for adventure, my mind on a new romance, were dashed.
This was away back in 8 bit days. Think it was on my Apple IIc but no doubt it was on IBM machines too.
Anyone got an idea from that vague description?
