NB: I know this should be on the Computers board, but who visits that... really?

Well, carrying on from the five-star MS-DOS Prompt thread, I thought I'd revive a certain few memories that you may have of the early 90s.

DOS Games

Remember Commander Keen? Crystal Caves? Alley Cat? Hugo's House of Horror? The hours of fun that went with them, jumping up and down on platforms? Go to the above link. I was alerted to it only just last week through my University's newspaper and boy, has my life turned around in that short time.

Deadset, was anyone's life more complete than when they played Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure? No. So go and get 'em, dagnabbit.

No Leisure Suit Larry is the main downside, I also can't get Prince of Persia to run, amongst others (shame, that).

Also try DOS Games Archive.

Really? Link me up, if you can recall the site... would be very much appreciated.

I won't remember where I got it from ... but I'll bet I've still got the original PoP zip file at home!

I think its #2, the most popular one ... or it could be #1 ... whichever it was, its the old-style popular one.

I'll chase it up tonight.

COOL!

This is going back quite a while, but in primary school (this would've been 10-11 years ago) did anyone else get to play that mining game where you had to go fossick and steal stuff if you couldn't afford it ...

Squeak and Mobbs, would it be too much trouble to ask if you could send Leisure Suit Larry and PoP, respectively, to your old pal Guey... I'll PM you my e-mail address if that's cool.

I used to love this game.
I used to drive the most powerful car. Got very frustrating though!!!

I used to win the 10 and 30 lap races easily... but the 60 lap race I never won (or the one above that one!).

One time I got to 57 laps, and I was leading before a lap car hit me instantly bursting one of my tyres and basically my race was over as I spun out, into the wall, where 2 other tyres burst and my engine blew. :( :(

This actually happened a few times like this! Very frustrating :(

lakers vs celtics!!
where in the world is carmen sandiego?
the legend of krynn (RPG)

 Commander Keen! I remember him! I used to play that all the time. Conquered it millions of times! We also had Jazz Jackrabbit...IIRC it is/was a DOS game...used to love that game!

Had Carmen Sandiego at school. Does anyone remember Captain Comic? I hated that game, played the damn Adelaide song :D

Also, at school when we had Apple computers, we had this damn addictive game called Spin Doctor. Not really related to DOS games, but does anyone know if I can get this on IBM?

No Police Quest :(
Has anyone got it that can email it to me? Just the first one. If you can send us a PM

I still have Commander Keen 2 at home, also Dangerous Dave, and Jill.

Is Dangerous Dave the one where you go into that mansion to shoot all the zombie creatures, slime, and spiders? I love that one! Prince of Persia was a good one as it had great game play and stretegy for a relatively simple platform game. My personal favourites was Spear of Destiny, of which the recent Return to Castle Wolfenstein CD ROM game is its most recent version. Gods was another one i liked. Pity all those games were on those obsolete 5.25 inch discs, i would still like to play them to this day.

I remember my old man finally conquered Cosmo 1, and we wanted to get 2 & 3... and one day, he saw it at the Dandenong Markets. Money was a bit tight that week, so he goes "ah, stuff it, I'll buy it next time".. and we never saw it again.

Still haven't found it, unfortunately. :(
