I don't know how to take it.He did say he might play league a few years ago as well.I can see why it would be attractive to him.Trot out,kick ball,trot back to bench a few times a game.No need to do horror pre season training for that job.
I would obviously prefer him to stay.

personally i cant see a player of his size/ build being looked at as a draft prospect for gridiron. They tend more to go for the likes of bazza taller more solid builds. Rings a bit of Aker and rugby union.

He only has to punt the ball.Size doesn't matter(As I tell anyone who cares to listen).They don't do anything else.

Admittedly i dont know a lot about NFL. But even if they only have to kick the potential is there for them to get taken out before they get the ball to boot. Some of the big p***ks in the NFL could kill someone his size, surely? Thats why i say they would look for someone slightly bigger in build

thats why it would be his job to come off the bench kick the ball as far as he can and go back to the bench;)

Im a big fan of the NFL. The chances of the punter getting takled is extremly unlikely, More to the point is Davis usually has his long run up and preperation type thing, he wont get that in NFL. He doesnt even have that long of a kick. I dont think it will happen. He will stay on this year and i think i will knock some sense into him before one of the games this year.

Didn't think punting was all that concentrate on 'length', but rather 'hang-time'

both length and hangtime are important. But in some key situations it will be most important to get length, for example if you are sitting on your goal line. Graham is averaging over 60 yards, davis cant kick that far. FACT.

Well it may be fact that Davis can't kick that far but the rest is fiction. Graham's gross average was not quite 44 yards this season and he did not have a punt that reached 60 yards with his longest being 59. Also when it comes to weight being an issue the leading punter this year was 6ft and 175 lbs or about 183cm and 80kg.

Are you sure about that? I will check. I swear i heard he was doing 60 yards. Hmm i do stand corrected. Graham was though the 9th highest average. Which is very good for his first year. Point is davis cant do that.

Nick would not have any problems with being able to kick far enough for NFL teams to be interested.

No NFL team will go for Nick especially with Rocca and other players who can kick longer than Nick. There are 2 or 3 players who i think will go over to the NFL but that is a maybe.

Again, I don't think he would have a problem with the distance. 1 metre = 1.093 yard (approx), so
* averaging 44 yards is averaging 40 metres (approx)
* 60 yards is 55 metres (approx)
* 70 yards is 64 metres (approx)
Right now I would back Davis to be able to kick those distances with a drop punt when he has heavy legs in the 4th quarter of a game (and have certainly seen him do it), let alone coming on to kick distances only. You'd probably back him to drop it within a few metres of wherever he wants to over those distances as well.

Sounds like some Swans supporters are trying to sell his talents to the Yanks.
We should be just telling them what DougK is saying so they'll keep their grubby hands off him. Even if it isn't true.

Never seen davis pass 55 metres. Let me again say that there are alot bigger kicks in AFL. I will tell you that Nick is not going anywhere.

i would so cry if he left the swans because he has given so much to the club, however I wouldn't think that Davis could make it to a NFL with the likes of the Roccas. I pretty sure he's safe
