On The Ball

Hey guys, just wondering if any of you have heard about the new online AFL management game called On The Ball, it is new and in the mould of Hattrick (popular online soccer management game)

Anyone who hasn't heard of it before should chekc it out, it is only in its first actual season after a Beta season finished a few weeks ago, but is proving quite popular. SO come in and take a look, it will only get better so all the more input the better!

It's as if it's some site to scam your details out of ya! I register and get no email back, send out for a lost password and get nothing back. There's SFA on the website too.

nah no scam as far as i'm aware, it is simply just a new afl online managment game and i since i heard of it on hattrick i thought i would share it on here because this is an afl message board and thought some people may be interested to check it out...

and some people on hattrick said they got the same problem with the email, did you check the junk-mail folder if its a hotmail address? it may be in there, that what some other people got.

well i don't know as i had no problems in signing up when i discovered it. perhaps they are currently having problems as zeke said the site didn't work but it does for me...maybe try again in a few hours i guess.

i am in a league right now so besides from the outside looking like there is SFA on the site, once you are registered and log in all the game is there, they just haven't put much effort into the aesthetic looks outside of the actual game at these early stages as they are more fixed on working out what server hardware they have to implement to run the game more smoothly, what new features should be added and so on i guess.

I've been signed up for a while now and am really enjoying it thus far, despite the game having a few bugs (still in a beta testing stage) it's good fun and is worth signing up for (if you can, don't know what's up with the 404 errors)

My teams 1-1 at this stage, looks like it'll be a good season anyway!

-And about the missing emails, you might want to try looking in your junk mail folders, as I've heard some end up in there by mistake!-

Just attempted to join and the same thing happened to me, no confirmation email to be found, even in the Junk Mail.

Nothing in my junk mail folder either. Doubt it's as good as hattrick though, is it?

Well of course it isn't as good as Hattrick, Hattrick been around since 1997 and On The Ball has only been around for a few months!

But it's about AFL mate, so I think it is our duty to give it a chance to shine and become bigger and better as the seasons go by...you always have to start somewhere!

What team are you Blues4Life? I got a NavyBlues team in my league (i'm West Coast Eagles...yeah i know really orginal )

LOL, I think I saw you post on the forums or something and thought that thinking of original names seemed to escape some people

I'm Old Dark Navies in one of the Amateur Leagues, haven't really worked everything out yet but it's been good fun. All the announcements and stuff happen on your team home page, so don't let the empty front page fool you, theres plenty been happening (training, matches, updates etc.).

And no it's not as good HT yet, but it holds plenty of promise simply because it's an AFL game, with some time I think it'll be very competitive as a smaller market game.

Hehe, yeah I have posted a few things in the forums. Oh ok so your the Old Dark Navies, I got a team in my leage called the 'Navy Blues' which I play tomorrow but that isn't you, oh well still a reasonably fun game to play. I have won my first two matches, so I got my team line-up pretty much as good as I can get it I believe, only time will tell if it will stand the test all season!

I signed up and play this game. Its alrite but my team has got thrashed in tha first 3 games. Its not that good but its betta than nuthin.

i am 3-0 up after the first three rounds and on top of my ladder, and i am enjoying watching the game develop.

You fellas need to remember, THIS GAME IS STILL IN IT'S BETA STAGES! BigFooty wasn't supposed to hear about it until it reached full release, but it seems someone has gone and spread word, which of course means all you people get to see is an uncomplete, buggy version >:/

Registration has been paused for the time being, as it was growing very fast and time needed to be put into improving the game rather than improving the capacity of the servers.

Be patient, when this game is finished, it'll be fantastic
