Kidd went to New Jersey and Marbury off to the Suns.

Kidd took the the Nets through the playoffs into the finals, Marbury took an early break and still dreams of playing for New York.

Can Marbury lift himself and his team or by next year will the Nets be laughing themselves and their trade genius back for another shot at the Lakers??

Marbury is class, but NJ were always going to win that trade.

Apparently Kidd was heading somewhere else and NJ the last minute offered Marbury?

Talking of one sided deals...

How about Cleveland's tanking plans by trading Wesley Person for Nick Anderson, and then Lamond Murray for Micheal Stewart.

The Marbury for Kidd deal on the surface didnt look so one sided. It was only after what Kidd did in NJ did it appear one sided. Marbury is a great player and could lead the Suns into playoff action this season. But Kidd is now a superstar, the best PG in the league and his Nets the best in the East.

But neither have won titles and really thats what it's all about so right now, nobody won the deal, however NJ certainly came out better.

aw.. i'm a huge fan of starbury... plays like my all-time fav. player, KJ...

yes.. on the surface it didnt seem one sided...
kidd's suns continually, couldnt go very far in playoffs... (even with a better roster than the current nets)

after the trade, NJ jumped from 26-56 to club record 52-30.. divison champs, eastern conference champs etc etc... in a p1ss-weak conference...

that looks astonishing... however, kidd's last season with the suns... they finished 51-31 !!!! (which was good enough for 6th seed $#@!)

and, starbury did very for me... (fantasy league) !

I beleive Cleveland dealt those players so they can have a **** year and finish dead last so they get 1st pick in the draft.

Apparently I've read that the 1st player to be picked in the draft has been compared to Michael Jordan status.

That would be one LeBron James. Quite the catch for anyone who can get him and yes your right, Cleveland are tanking but they will find it hard to get the worst record in the NBA as they have good competition from the Denver Nuggets.
