No plodders... and lets not get too safe.

Jetta or Black!

Either a super fast wingman with penetrating kicking or a guy who might turn into a freak show....

Who i'm holding out for, though not holding my breath with the Eagles and Dees before us. The other, Black, will reserve judgement as i haven't seen him play yet.

Either have i.... but i hear abit about him... and i like that kind of footballer...

Im not sure the Dees will target Jetta. They have a few midfielders as it is.
And i cant believe a club in the top 6 will take Jetta either...even though i hear he wont get past the WA sides....im pretty sure when push comes to shove with such an early pick they will always go for the safe option... cos thats what happens with the first half a dozen or so picks more often than not...

... and with GC17 coming in ... im pretty sure clubs will go for the safe option... and punt later....

We have a few solid young guns...

Yarran is a wildcard and i hope we have a crack at another early wildcard this year....and back our people to do the right thing with them...

Should put the finishing touches on an amazing list up the track.

Dees have already mention they screwed up last year by not taking Jetta after Neville's mother pointed them in that direction. Connelly, while not the recruiting manager, stated he is definitely a top 20 prospect. If he was available at 11, even if they snap up Trengove and Scully Jetta would be in their minds. You can't have too many midfielders, especially of the talent of Jetta. They also have 18 (he won't get to that pick) which could be used on either a ruckman or KPP.

Anyway can't see him getting past the Eagles first pick. Played in their pre-season match last year and is exactly what they need.

Never know though, anything can happen...

He's a Swannies boy, that is our WA breeding ground, would love him at 12.

I reckon the Eagles need a few things.....

.... and sometimes clubs can stereotype indigenous quicks and believe they can take cracks at them later in drafts... there seem to be so many coming on...

Just as we took Garlett and Betts...

This surely must be slowly changing....but it wouldnt surprise me at all.

Its harder to find some things you lack than some other things you lack in your mind....

the thing is though... you lack them all so theyre all must pretty hard to find

its a perception thing and a priority thing ....

Oh and as for Jetta being recommended by Jettas mum last year......

How could they have stuffed up.. if they had never seen jetta... didnt know a thing about jetta... except what nevilles mum told them about her nephew who was playing in some bush league noone had every heard of????

one thing is for sure... he wouldnt be the only one to have fallen through the usual cracks of talent spotting.

Best available for #12.

Be great if a Tapscott or Stevens falls to this pick but i'll be happy enough with Talia too.

#43

Would love us to take Justin Van Unen. Hard as nails mid who can kick goals off half forward as well. Tested exceptionally well at Vic state screening too.Built like a tank yet absolutely smasheh them in the agility test. :thumbsu:

#59

I like the raw promise of Serhat Temel as a late pick. Was voted his TAC team's 'player of the finals' so lifted when it mattered most.

Why is Talia a plodder?

Pick #11 - Carlton - Daniel Talia - 195cm, 80kg - 2 Oct 91 - Calder Cannons

At 195cm he is very nice height but will probably need a little time to fill out. His athleticism is good for someone his height, ran under 3 seconds for 20m and 10.30 for 3km at the age of 17. Hard worker who doesn't give up once the ball hits the ground, is very composed with the ball and quick off the mark. Doesn't panic, more often than not makes the right decisions and disposal is very neat. Hands seem solid and attacks contests, not afraid to put his body on the line which is something important for a KPP.

With regards to the Blues, his versatility to either play on a KF, be a target up forward or even have a run in the midfield could be very beneficial to Ratten. Just would give him many different options like throwing Waite forward, releasing Bower a little, give another forward target etc.

Rd 14 V Geelong Match Report

Second term saw new All Australian Daniel Talia into the midfield and start to take control over his opponent ensuring Mitchell’s second goal, and then McCallum and Ezard combined some good handball forward to allow Talia the opportunity to post his first of the game, with a running snap shot to put it through.

Rd 14 V Geelong Match Report

Talia sounds mobile.

I'm not for Carlton getting Talia, yet you should quit making up spurious reasons to justify your desire for Lewis Jetta.

Speak KPP, hear no KPP, see no KPP
