Finally we are about to narrow in on a position we have merely dreamed about for multiple decades. We are at the point where we have just about developed sufficient serious options. It is great to see the posts arguing the toss about who should be dropped who we can promote and most without reference to who is on the injured list!

Apart from perhaps ruck, although if you throw Richo into that mix it becomes arguable, we have multiple players to choose from for almost every position that are of sufficient AFL standard to the point where we can ignore lots of key dependencies. If not already, certainly in 2008 we will not desperately NEED any one player. Sure we will have the nice to haves and some great players but for once we will be able to sustain a decent competitive side despite the inevitable injuroies and form losses that are part of each season. Going forward the impact of serious injury like that to Brown, Cogs or Simmonds early may mean the difference between a few wins and losses but never the loss of a whole season again! Christ I cant wait!

Whilst I dont agree with a few opinions on changes and in n outs etc, it is brilliant that finally we can at least have such a discussion. The winning will come, its the fear of playing Richmond and our old fashioned arrogance that I cant wait to get back....and its just round the corner.

I remember the old days when whenever Richo missed a game we all knew it was pretty unlikely we were going to win. If it was known earlier in the week he was out we we're even more gutted as it felt like we we're waiting for a loss.

Although im glad that is no longer the case, there was a reason it was like that. Because despite how sh*t the team was Richo kicked a heap of goals for us. It's a great sign that Schulz had four scoring shots on Saturday, because on any other day that could have been four straight and all of a sudden the papers are talking about our potent forward line, not calling for us to tank.

Also have Couglhan to come back in. How huge is that! The league has forgotten how damaging he is.

That's options.

Good post TT.

It's fantastic to be debating about which young players should be elevated into the senior side, not how the hell can we get rid of the duds!

We have a long way to go...but we certainly do have more options than we have for a long time!
