I'm having shocking trouble with my browser lately. I switch on my PC, read my e-mail, download, music and all that stuff. But it takes about 30-40 minutes for my browser to open up. I tried downloading the latest browser from the MS site but that didn't work. I tried reinstalling my windows software and then I attempted to reinstall the optus@home software.

I really should call the optus@home help desk but has anyone got any other suggestions? :confused:
 
You may have a problem with your network card or your network settings. Have had similar problems that was the result of installing or reinstalling software. Try one or both of these:

1.Left click network neighbourhood, click on properties. Click on Ethernet Controller, then properties. Then click on advance and then check your connection type. It should not be on 'autosense'. If it is change it. Mine is on '10BaseT No Link Test'

2. Go to settings,control panel, then system, then device manager. Click on network adapter then refresh the network card. You may have to reinstal (latest) driver.

If it dosen't work or you have a usb connection I may not be of much help to you. But give optushome a ring. I found then very good at helping fix problems over the phone.

I am on USB connection. I called optushome just now and the chappy was pretty unhelpful. He said it was a problem with my PC and that I should download the latest browser.
He didn't have any more suggestions after I told him I had already tried that.

But I'll give it another shot & see where that gets me.
:)

If all else fails, I'll try optushome another night & hope to get a more helpful peson.

costs alot to get it installed, but you get 3 gig a month, unlimeted hours, etc etc. for around $60 a month once its installed.
