Ok what do people think of this,

Ottens > Lions

Mal Michael
Dylan Mclaren > Richmond

Michael apparently wants to come hope. This way our woeful defence would have a great fullback to rebuild around, and also allows Gaspar and Kellaway to take 2nd & 3rd Forwards to which they are better suited.

Mclaren also give's us a good young Ruckman.

Schultz could then be played out of the goal square where I think he is best suited (makes a good contest although appears to stupid to find the footy himself)

I think this trade seems reasonably fair,

thoughts?

McLaren is not a good young ruckman. He is 22 going on 23 and has had 4 years in the AFL. He is 4th choice at Brisbane and they know he can't ruck but like that he is a competitor who gives his all.

Mal Michael wouldn't be coming home. He was born in PNG and raised in QLD. No way they would let him go anyway.

NONONONONO!!

Read an article this morning saying that Wallace wants 2 1st rounders for Ottens, nothing else.
Souns like Terry is going to rebuild with youth big time. Picks 1,4, 20. It sounds like they will have 5 picks in the top 20.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Tigers go for a young player rather than an established player in the Preseason.

I'd ship Richardson off for any youth, chuck Shultz in the deep end, forget about your side winning alot of games this year. Develop, develop, develop, get a priority again. So next year you might have 3 in the top 20 and maybe pick up an established player in the preseason next year and then you are St Kilda.

I think Richo should be kept, he'll win us a few games off his own back and having him in the team won't get in the way of the kids developing. Plus he's a tiger through and through, I don't think I could bear seeing him play for another side. Trading him in for youth has merits, but it would also upset a lot of fans.

Plus we don't want to go too heavily in one draft, at this stage we have 8 spots free on the list, will probably end up with 10-12 by the end of trade week which will mean a lot of 17/18 year olds coming in. We already have about 6 or 7 from last year as well, that gives us a solid base of under 20's to build around. Need some balance in the list, a few senior guys and some in their mid-20's to take the burden while the kids develop.

I think if Tigers can do a St Kilda over the next 2-3 years, richo can become alot like Gerhrig and just sit on his fat arse in the goal square and totally out muscle most defenders n kick 100 goals, god if he kicks 65 goals in a year where i think we kicked something like 250 as a team- whole. That's about a quarter of the teams goals for the season(for all you Collingwood supporters, a quarter= 25%).

During the regular season Gehrig kicked 90 goals and i think the saints kicked about 380 or so,i know Riewoldt kicked alot too, but gehrig himself kicked about 22% of saints goals, Lloyd kicked about 23% of bombers goals, Fevola kicked around 24% of blues goals and Barry Hall kicked 24% of swans gaols.

I belive if tigers can create a good team in somewhere the near future with some quality midfeilders, i think that richo would go close to kicking a tonne a few times, maybe if tigers find another route to goals may also help Richo with the pressure of being the ONE AND ONLY foward in Richmonds foward line.

What these stats means i am not really sure because i have found myself totally lost so i think i'll just post this message anyway so someone can make some sense of my ramblings- please

Matthews practically dismissed any interest in ottto unless prepared to play for nothing

I've been on the Geelong board suggesting this deal and they just can't get their heads aroung a three way deal. The deal is:

Ottens goes to Geelong for Pick 16,
Tennace goes to Collingwood for McGough (or similar)
Collingwood's Pick 7 to Richmond.

They just can't get their head around it. They think they're getting Ottens for Pick 16, then in a separate deal swapping Tennace for McGough, and then Collingwood just gives Richmond Pick 7 for nothing.

This deal would be a dream for Richmond and Collingwood. Geelong would then have to work out whether they want Ottens that much that they're prepared to give up a first round selection from last year. But, they get their man.

I'd be very happy with 7 and 16.
I would think Geelong would be reasonably happy with Ottens and McGough for 16 and Tenace (although I'm sure they'd prefer not to lose him)
Collingwood would probably be happy with Tenace for 7 and McGough.
