I've seen a few comments here and there over this season about how Glass hasn't been looking that great and on occasion looks old and slow. But does anyone think our backline just falls in a complete heap when he's not there? Seems like no one seems to know where to go or where to stand without him and the opposition just finds space and gaps everywhere.

It's not the first time I've noticed this. I think we really need a Glass replacement and quickly. Not in the physical sense, but the mental. We need someone who knows what the **** is going on down back and marshalling the troops and I'm not sure we've got anyone who can do that other than Glass atm.

God yes. Twice last weekend the Roos kicked goals out of a stoppage in their fifty because no one had bothered to be on the goal line to stop a dribbled kick forward.

It is basic football, and when you see professionals that cannot even organise themselves to cover the basics you want to kill something!

I think when you've had glass marshalling the troops down back for so long it's natural that there will be a transitional time where our players look lost. I actually think we have the players and characters down back to hold us in good stead in that regard.

This, North scored easily because of the lack of transitional running by our mids on the weekend; it's what got us last year and it's what got us this weekend as well.

Our defenders are fine and by and large have been in form all year.

Brown didn't have a good game but that's his first poor one for the year - having towelled Jesse White the week before.

Emac was our best and Bennell probably second best. Hurn and Sheppard were good.

The issue is that the opposition midfield run unabated in numbers meaning our defenders are left short.

Petrie kicked two goals both when Emac had to leave him to cover someone else and he got an easy one over the top - mind you they were both good snaps.

Without including Glass, I think our defence has natural leaders. Mackenzie and Hurn are natural leaders to me. In the footy smarts department we have Mckenzie and Bennell who read the play well. We should be okay. I'm more worried about our midfield.

If Ellis can stay on the park I think he's definitely leadership material. Like Waters come back 3 years in time .
