its a talking point at the mo i was wandering if you guys might wanna list how you'd like to see it structured in 07... and your thoughts on related issues i.e. andrew lee stepping up?, richie cole doing something?,anything?!...changes for kep etc??

b. McVeigh Fletcher Welsh
Hb. NLM Lee McPhee
c KEPLER

this is what im hoping for, Lee to come in leaps and bounds so we can use keplers height and agility as a weapon, not a defence.

Also like to see monfries and lovett step up and play in the midfield

I would like to see McVeigh spend more time up the ground in the midfield next season, perhaps leaving Henry Slattery or Richie Cole to fill a spot in defence.

my back 6 would be

B Slattery Fletcher Welsh
HB NLM Lee McPhee.

Agreed i'd like to see Bradley in the centre line, he could be a handful.

Agree with your train of thought about Bradley. Also about Cole and Slattery, would like to see Slattery develop into tagging midfielder along the lines of Peverill 3-4 years back, ODonnell type. :thumbsu:

Personally I tihnk he is in the best 4 CHF's in the league...but any thought to playing Lucas as a permenant CHB ? With Johns coming on, I'm concerned he wil lget in the way of Lloyd in the 50m arc and would prefer his big body leading up the ground a little more....essentially filling Lucas' shoues....

thoughts?

I think whilst scotty was good at CHB a few years back, his best possie now is up forward.

I don't see why Kepler Bradley couldn't develop into an Adam Goodes style player. He's played most of his younger stuff on the wing, and could drift forward Andrew Embley style and kick a few.

i would like to see mcVeigh up the ground but we need slattery to STEP UP first, once he shows he can hold down bp then he should be left their.

kep would have to work on his kicking a bit to play that role... i think slattery actually showed some glimpses of brilliance in traffic and with his balance so whilst he would be an assett in the backline i would like to see him try a more offensive role or into the iddle with the action.. hopefully richie cole can offer the backline something with the departure of solly.

Assuming he gets more aggression into his game. Still somewhat of a pussycat when faced with a contested situation.

he just reminds me of cupido, good player, but never fit or disciplined. thats where im drawing my opinion from as i see cole halfway down cupidos path

Didn't Cole just pull his head in and lose 16 kg's. Sure it shouldn't of been there in the first place but it shows he is willing now to work hard on his game and dicipline.
Also Jay Nash i think will play half back flank and do a very good job. I liked his game in the wet against stk this year.

Remember that Cupido set himself a high standard with his blistering debut year for our club...was always going to be hard to follow that up, despite the fact that he didnt do himself any favours by tapering off dramatically. Cole hasnt really shown us anything yet to suggest one way or the other.

Still dont know about Kepler being on the wing, would be great when we have the ball but defensive side and aerobic capacity to run the other way could end up hurting us, can you imagine what embley or goodes would do when running of him.

This year is a telling point for Kelper, hopefully he can show us an improved and more consistent effort and a different body shape, then we might have some idea where we should play him and where he best compliments our side.

yes id like the look of

b Slatts Fletch Welsh
hb NLM Lee Nash
c McPhee Watson Kepler

that would be fantastic if that could work out

Got a feeling Sheedy will try palying NLM at CHB..
Dont ask me why but here's mine...

b Slatts/Mcveigh Fletch Welsh
hb Cole/McPhee NLM Nash
c McPhee/Dyson Watson Kepler

I think the best defensive unit we can put on the park is:

B: ..McVeigh......Fletcher......NLM
HB: McPhee.......Lucas.........MJ (with Cole/Nash/Lee as backup for a taller backline)

In my view the only switch should be Lee for Lucas, and a youngster (Slattery/Nash/New guy) for MJ, due to team structure/development needs. I agree that I hope Bradley can become a tall winger, and would go further to say I'm not sure if he'll be able to play any other position (I think its rotating wing/HFF or nothing).

In my view Welsh & Cole are backups, and shouldn't be in the 22 (which is why I would've traded Welsh).

6th in the B&F (I know we didn't have a good year), rarely beaten, nearly 20 disposals a game, does his job most weeks.

Your a harsh man.

He was better than MJ.

you're right longy, i'm sick of people trash talking welsh - gives his all on every occasion and often when outsized...
