I don't know if the problem lies with our mids or our forwards or maybe a bit of both, but ****ing hell we would need 1000 i50s to kick a winning score the way we play. Why can opposition players always hit up short targets inside 50 and we can't?

hutchings, rosa, priddis, gaff, are some of the main culprits. we are paying the price for completely disregarding the importance of kicking skills and football IQ with our recruiting
Because instead of getting quickly they wait for the opposition to flood back then just kick up and unders to the goal square or if they do get it in quickly the just kick it directly to the only opposition player in there

Slow ball movement doesn't excuse a side bombing the ball into the forward 50. This isn't bloody Auskick.
Plenty of sides chip the ball around the 70m arc till they can pinpoint a pass inside the 50. Also, we have players like Hurn who can kick a goal from 75m on a dry day.
There's no excuse for playing crap footy.
Woosha couldn't coach this out of them, Sumich couldn't when he was the forwards coach and now Simpson who just declared he banned it just sat through a game where this strategy was utilised 90% of the time entering the forward 50.
Pathetic.
It's because we have very few actual playmakers.
Players with a plan who can actually get around an opponent, run a full length and then hit up a forward. (Ala Goddard)
Instead our potato team chip it around with zero direction, until someone like Priddis runs around the back for a handball and then subsequently bombs it high in to the forward 50 anyway. It basically completely contradicts the whole point of chipping it around in the first place.
Slow ball movement results in long kicks to contests because short kicks to players that aren't free are worse. It's called playing the percentages, you penetrate deep when the opposition have numbers back and you put the pressure back on the opponents in your scoring zone.
The biggest issue Simpson had to fix was us getting opened up on the rebound like we did in late 2013.
This why Wce need to draft Pickett he s a 70 metre player can run fast , break lines and hit up a target .
You're the one causing the problem!!! DID YOU EVEN READ MY POST???
BOMBING IS NOT AN OPTION. Playing a game strategy that relies on opponent error or free-kicks to score goals IS NOT A WINNING STRATEGY.
You have to control the game - and control the ball to win. Not rely on luck.
No but it's definitely something the club should have as an extra string to it's bow.
Huh??? You think the eagles should have the ability to cause opponent errors and free kicks?
