Shuey has been a top notch footy player for us since day 1 but it's been pretty obvious that he's added a lot to the club culturally too. He always seems to be taking a young guy under his wing or getting around that guy in the squad who has you thinking "He doesn't seem to fit in".

As an example, I would say that Shuey helped Jetta settle into the club. It wasn't exactly a match made in heaven. Years later, Jetta seems to have helped Rioli a bit, and then Jetta and Rioli seem to have gotten around Flyin' Ryan. None of this happens without Shuey. In fact, it's quite possible that Jetta flames out and we wuss out of drafting any indigenous talent.

Anyway, Shuey has been good on the field but maybe even better off it.

Yep. Really happy he got the NS medal. Been one of our best for so long but rarely gets recognised for it. Takes the tag every week. Well done Shuey
