while pagan did all he could do last year, and pick up some recycled talent overlooked or staved of opportunities at other clubs, i want your opinions the players we have acquired and whether in hindsight they were made for the right reasons.

I think pagan is a great coach, but i wonder about whether his treatment of players brings the best out in them, and fills them with confidence.

The players we lost:
1) allan: seems to be fully fit and playing extremely well, i couldn't believe pagan didnt give him more of a go last year, he was our best ruck choice, the game against richmond proved that!
2) murphey: pagan made this bloke feel horrible im guessing, now sheeds has taken him under his wing, given him confidence and his class is shinning through. he too was a great loss!
3) beaumont: while havent seen much of him at the hawkes, he still was an older body who could have helepd out our defence. however, we effectively got nothing for him, as clarke never gets a go.

Now the players we gained:
1) Heath Scotland - been a great acquisition, well done!!
2) Nick Stevens - obviously helped a great deal.
3) David Teague - super player imo, cant believe he couldnt get a game at north!
4) deluca - very good young talent, happy with him
5) bannister - needs to be given tagging jobs like at the start of the year, not start him on the bench, give him a job and let him try and achieve it.
4) Brett Johnson - Not sure about brett, he;s very inconsistent, he doesnt get enough of the ball, and seems to be pretty slow, i dont think pagan is a huge fan of this bloke, cos he seems to be benched a lot.
5) glen bowyer - happy with this bloke also, he seems to have fitted in really well.
5) ricky mott - big body, get him fit and he should be serviceable.

Now for the strugglers:
1) david clarke - feel sorry for the bloke he never seems to get ne game time (why?), how can they assess him without giving him a run?? the last time i remember him playing alright was against the cats, he actually played quite well.
2) digby morrel - needs to be tried in defence maybe. hes a big body and maybe try and mould him into a chb? ne thoughts?
3) steve kenna - seems like he's not up to afl atm, it'd be great if he could develop into an in and under midfielder, but not sure.
4) corey mcgrath - where the **** is he. he hasn't been given a game!! i know they think he's inconsistent, but surely he should be given opportunity, he's hard at the ball and played finals footy for the dons last year!!

Now here it is folks .... what du guys reckon will happen to the strugglers on this list??? delist at end of year??? i want peoples honest opinions and assessments of these blokes and whether pagan brings the best out in them.

cheers

we needed to get rid of allan, murphy and beaumont for younger players. pagan wanted young players that he can mould

yeah but du think murphey, whose 28, for mcgrath 25 is a good swap??

beaumont for clarke seems like a dudd deal, at leas beaumont would have played.

for allan, he's 29 i think, and ruckman develop later on, french is down and now we're stuck with young guys not up to it!

i agree we needed youth ... but i suppose at the time they were all seen as being great swaps .... he said not all will come off

but what du think will happen to the blokes on the struggling list, will we keep them or get rid of them and try out some other players from other clubs??

cheers

Finally we get to see mcgrath!!! hope he's a good in and under impact midfield player who can play up forward as well.

this spells the end for clarke im afraid, poor guy will prolly be delisted at end of year.

harford too seems to be his last chance, hope for his sake he can provide us with some hardness and keep his spot in the 22.

i think its better we rested o'halpin. he'll play against the hawkes hopefully, much easier baptising than the crows in adelaide.

Harford is on about 75K from Carlton I think

Beaumont went on strike in the round 22 match against North - end of story

The sook was getting paid heaps yet couldnt handle training under denis - throughout the game he was asking north players 'how the hell did u survive under pagan'

u will cop it beauie next week u hack
