After reading through the PreSeason thread and a few others over the last few weeks, I've noticed that after all of our brilliant drafting and intense 45 minutes a day training there are still doubters out their that think we can not win the flag next season. I'm here to put your minds at ease. Not only will we win the flag BUT we will go through the season undefeated and storm home to a grand final win. All because we have a secret weapon this season. You see with the inclusion of Mitchell, the full preseason of training Sheed will have, the newly found manlyness of Gaff, Jetta being fat...umm I mean fit, Redden improving (he can't actually get any worse) and as always our Brownlow medalist Priddis back to full health & TTHD, with all of those players improving it now means that our lord and saviour Chris Masten will no longer be relied upon in being that premier midfielder. He now will have the freedom to play anywhere. Think Dangerfield at the cats or Martin of Richmond, both float forward and kick goals, Except Masto will be more dangerous:
(Chris Masten making swift lead in front of goals)
(Kennedy celebrating with 2017 Coleman Medalist Chris Masten)
Now it's all good to kick goals, because that's what wins games. But what if we're up by a goal with a few seconds to go? We bench McGovern and send this contested marking beast in to save the day, think Bartel of the cats...but younger and more fierce:
Oo...umm how did that get on there...
(Clearly Maston getting ready to save the day in defence.)
Now it's all fine and dandy to say put him here or there, but what about where we actually need him to play. I believe our secret weapon of 2017, the thing that will skyrocket us up to the to is....to send Masto to the ruck. Quick, agile, damaging. Chris will dominate the 'traditional' ruckman with his athleticism. Plus he taught nick everything he knows.
(Nic Nat receiving some on the job training.)
