Needs a kick up the arse.. costs us more than he is worth sometimes. needs to get back to basics and play the way he used to.

thoughts?

Makes mistakes but the run he generates from the backline is generally worth more goals than he gives away. One of the only guys that consistently breakes the lines. There are quite a few I'd drop before him, one R Tambling who I believe needs a serious kick up the arse after the last 2 weeks.

His last month has definatly been poor after a really good start. Needs a bit of a rocket. However, Rainsy is still injured and I can't really see anyone from Coburg playing as a small running backpocket. Maybe Conners?

I can't wait for Raines to return he will be a great IN for us.

King reminds me alot of Tim Flemming from a few years back, but with better run. He offers alot to the team but has gotta cut the silly free-kicks out.

No way, King adds some grunt to our backline. Mistakes are made, yes, and free kicks are given, true, but he adds so much more to the team.

king has definitely started to make some mistakes - but i wouldn't consider for a second dropping him. His attack on the ball WAS what started to set the standard for intensity for the team - we was the orignal proto-type. last night was a perfect example - he made a bad turnover and then just ran down and body slammed his essendon opponent who gathered it up. It sets the example for intensity - and that is invaluable.

His passion for doing the team things far out ways the fallout of his errors - terry and david king just need to tell him to settle down a bit and to stop trying to play up to the stereo=type of how the "Energizer bunny" should play.

Something isnt right with Jake, needs to be moved somewhere else - maybe up the ground where he can just run and attack. Cant see anyone doing a better job than king at this point.

Tambling was the one that ignited the team in the first quarter. He faded a bti as the game went on, but was very good in the first half.

Fleming is the one he reminds me of too Kurtis. A more skilled version, but with the same lack of decision making and discipline.

I've been flamed in the past on here for criticizing King, but it looks like a few more are starting to see his flaws. He is still playing exactly the same way he has since his first game, but as other players in the team are improving his mistakes are starting to stand out more. Worst player in our 22 IMO.

Danny Meyer will take Kings role eventually - sounds stupid....but watch this space - wallace loves him.

King is becoming far too error prone and need to get back to basics.. He need to show more respect to his opponent instead of peeling off into space all the time. Prefer a no nonsense player to a showman.

Settle down, like an old bike, he still works fine we just need to polish him up a bit.

I reckon he has lost his head a bit since Bowden was dropped. It is a very young backline and Joely used to calm him down a bit and help him re-focus.

He doesn't have that at the moment and tends to giveaway one free kick and then another.

He'll bounce back, he looks like the beaver from Caddyshack when he bares his mouthguarded teeth.

I'm starting to think that Kingy may benefit from a couple of weeks in the burgers - providing TW does it properly like he did with Bowden. Otherwise I dont see the point of just dropping a player the calibre of Kingy without trying to lift him to the next level and develop him in the process. Dropping a player like him shouldnt be seen or used as punishment.

I think his attack on the ball and the effort he puts in is second to none but he lacks the smarts in defence so he struggles when he's on the likes of Milne.

Eg. he'll go third man up in a contest against much taller players while his player sits in front at their feet often giving his opponent an easy goal when the ball hits the ground.

Because it is dangerous to have him play on someone like Milne, Medhurst etc. it creates structural problems in our defence which, along with some skill errors has made him a bit of liability at times. There doesn't seem to be any better options playing at Coburg so we have to stick with him while he learns a few tricks.

Anyway that's my uneducated opinion.

If you reckon we are going to drop a guy who got 8 tackles and kept his man to 1 goal on Saturday night, you are kidding yourself.

wouldnt drop him, but he definitely needs a rocket. Still love his commitment and the way he runs it but some of his clangers are really bad and I've noticed more and more are creeping into his game. I think teams have worked out how to exploit his lack of size which in my book means he has to reinvent himself as a tagger or midfielder. (Definitely think hes suited to a midfield role). Just seems to get exploited too easily now which creates frustration for him which in turn creates more glaring errors.
