IDDY I know your disappointed and felt let down, but I actually expected it, its what we do these days, we have not enough leaders out there and unfortunately leave it for our kids to fly the flag.

I sat back and just watched today, didnt let my emotion take me fror a ride.

And if you aren't, at this stage of our development, Richmond needs supporters who have a bit more sense of long term purpose, rather than 'Reiwoldt, Hughes and Morton gave me an erection' one week, and 'the knife could not be big enough for these cowardly losers' the week after. Trade your goldfish week to week reactionary memory in for a tiny chunk of long term vision.

We've given everything we had the last few weeks and were limping to the break with a majority of our important or swing players over the first half of the season carrying injuries. Today, with Brown's uncharacteristic innacuracy, Richo's body giving out on him, Simmonds on one leg, and Tuck (our only genuinely effective midfielder over the last month) with his ears plugged and struggling to even be out there, we got smashed in the centre and couldn't convert enough chances when we got them.

Foley will realise he hasn't been good enough for 3/4 of the season so far and bust his arse on the training track over the break to get past where he is at right now - getting hassled and tagged out of games, struggling with niggling injuries and blunting his hardness with poor frees against. Polo, Deledio, White and Tambling are in their first season as genuine midfield options and will all improve enormously over time on what they did today. Hughes, Reiwoldt and Morton were good again when given the chance and on the days we break even in the midfield they've shown they can do a job for us.

Kelvin Moore has come from nowhere to really stand up as a good rebounding key defender. Today he went in without Thursfield or McGuane for support, he got 5 goals kicked against him, but he never took a backwards step, never went into his shell, and kept playing the game we want from our defenders. On a day when he doesn't have to win 60% of the contests and play above where he is currently at, he will break the hearts of opposition forwards with his game brand of defence.

You can drop crucial games due to the lack of input from senior players when you're still fully in development mode and still be 100% on track.

Take a handful of clumsy half-volley forward deliveries from Hyde and Brown taking the chances he usually does out of today, and it's an 8-point turn around in finals terms.

Are these players pivotal to our long term best-22 and ambitions? Hardly.

Will Cotchin, White, Tambling, Deledio, Polo, Reiwoldt, Hughes, Morton, Moore, King and Pattison be much better, fitter, harder players in two years than they were today? Of course they will.

That's half the side we fielded today and you can add a few more who weren't available today to that list.

Supporting our side ATM is about understanding who, where and why we fall down, and having the grey matter to understand that as we build our side of the future, we are gradually eliminating the perpetual letdowns and replacing them with kids who let us down now and again because of age, fitness and experience, not because of ability or heart.

Feel totally gutted. All week I had this sick feeling that our party would get spoiled, had no one reason just a gut feeling. No finger pointing required. A huge week for the team and I doubted if some could handle that weight of an expectant crowd, obviously not but lotsa kids. Forget teh cheap shots as this kid and that kid our old faithfuls were crao today. Worst game Ive seen Browny and Richo play as a duo. We started nervous as hell, played defensive why I dont ____ing know, and ran out of petrol tickets. To be honest we got outplayed for long periods of time today but somehow they didnt punish as they might have.

Add to that the fact that I spend another lazy $500 to see something special on a special day which has never ever failed to jinx 'em! I'm a friggin Jonah!

The best part of the day....seeing an absolute sea of yellow and black. They must have had 27 adults and 9 kids there. Walking from the city every Tiger group said a quick "go Tiges" to me, it was magic. Shame we couldnt deliver......again. When we awaken its gonna be awesome, just ____en hurry up!

I don't know how you could have enjoyed the game. Were you there? I wouldn't even have enjoyed it if I was a Carlton supporter, except for the last quarter. What we saw today was two sides a long, LONG way off the pace.
