Here is a doco about the gold theft from Kerry packers personal safe, its value was 5.4M AUD . The suspected thief ( a professional safecracker) lived in the same block as Packers personal secretary and was also having a intimate relationship with her. Packer was said to have known this man also, they frequented the same restaurant.

No one was ever charged, when you try to search for the mans name it has been erased from the internet though this doco shows edited pictures of him. The secretary was sacked for drinking too much but was given a generous lifetime pension and a big property???

My immediate thought was this was an inside job and Kerry was involved.

Why would packer risk being charged with a crime for a pissy 5.4mil in gold, he would keep that in his ashtray.

Why cant he be named as somoene convicted of a previous crime? ie he served 2 years in the 1960s for a 'job' so his name must be about

Someone has taken legal action to prevent that, someone with deep pockets, this is my assumption.

Who could that be and why???
Surname strats with K would be my guess

Just watched the documentary - thanks for recommending. Search "14,000 Pearl Theft Alleged" 1964 and you can see the Newspaper article mentioned in the show for those interested.
