Against the Swans, if Lloydy hadnt played a stellar game....we wouldve been chewed up n spat out by Hall alone.

Isn't that the same as saying if Hall hadn't played we would have won by 10 goals? In reality you rely on your champions to get you across the line, that's just the way it is. Your best players have the biggest impact on results.

It's experience that consistently wins games. And we are pumping experience into our kids, week in, week out we have 8-10 young blokes running around. Compare the experience in our kids to those at the Roos, Brisbane, Collingwood etc.

In 5-6 years time we will be saying we are relying on Stanton, Monfries and Lovett etc to win us games. That's just the way footy goes. There are no negatives in having your senior blokes win you games, providing your getting a contribution from your younger players. At the moment we are getting that contribution from the youngsters, we need a bigger impact from the senior players.

which senior players are not contributing? mark johnson wold be the only one i could think of,fletcher has been superb, lucas has been his usual self, hilles been great and j johnson hit some form finally. hirds always hird so that is our usual match winners playing ok.

stanton has not done much this year, he is getting tagged heavily, dyson has been dropped back to the magoos and not given a solid chance and ryder is shocking, bolton is like hird is hird but bolton is bolton (crap).

It makes it harder for our matchwinners to peform for 120 minutes when these players are in the team and players like lloyd are out, we are playing to form i doubt our bolkes could lift anymore, we're just an ordinary side.

I think you've taken my point a little out of context. My whole point was there is nothing wrong with relying on your senior players to win you games of footy. That's the way it should be.

Regardless, Hird, Fletcher, McVeigh, Heffernan aside, I don't think any of our senior players have performed conistently at their best.

The difference between Stanton in 2006 and 2005 is he isn't getting as much game time. He's playing good footy, he just isn't required to play full games as he was at the end of last season. He's going alright.

We are ordinary, but we're not 1-4 ordinary. We're better than that.
