Anyone else reckon we should be in (secret) negotiations with this guy at the moment? As far as i'm aware, he is out of contract at the end of the year, and with Carlton going sh*t, they could well end up offering him a reduced salary contract for next year, especially given they're hardly in fantastic financial shape.

Of course, this is all assuming that there is a get out clause in CC's new extension.

And realistically we are more of a chance of getting him, I think his time at the Dons is almost up, perhaps one more coaching stint for the great man before he retires.

If that's the case then we'd be wasting our time. But he was certainly in his last year of his current contract (as of the start of this year) and I haven't heard any news of an extension in the last couple of months.

Still, a coaches contract isn't worth the paper it's written on. If Connolly doesn't make the finals he's gone. If Carlton's season turns to arse from here who knows what happens to Pagan.

I'd definitely be targeting Pagan for next season if he is available (unless CC pulls off a miracle). He'd do absolute wonders with our list, particularly with Pavlich beginnning to dominate at CHF - hello Pagan's paddock. Plus I'm sure he'd instil some much needed fortitude into the playing group.

And you blokes think that the Bombres , Pies , Blues and even Brisbane etc all havn't had games under these "Master Coaches" where they have played with "A lack of heart" or "un-motivated" or what other derogatry term you can think of to apply to our players?

Let alone lose games they were supposed shoe-ins to win.

Might be nice in theory but it aint never going to happen. Esp since he has signed on with the Blooooooze for another few years.

We also will not be getting Matthews, Sheedy, Malthouse or Williams... the only other premiership coaches.... Forget it. It aint happening.
