A thankless task but one that has to be done . That is exposing todays bludgers.

Clive Waterhouse
Steve Koops

Others who have to worry about there spot
Scott Thornton
Daniel Haynes

Hmmmm... I thought Koops did alright given that he was not left on the ground for very long. For the majority of the game he was placed in our forward line and therefore after half time he didn't see much of the ball when he was actually on the field.

As for Waterhouse, I think he has to go back to the WAFL and McPharlin should come in for him.

While Thornton didn't really do badly, he didn't really do much to impress either, he will go out when Hayden comes back.

Haines is a bit of a worry for me, even though he has played well at times, his decision making during the game is still not up to standard. While I have confidence that he could develop this side of his game, he really just needs more time on the park.

I was impressed with Croad today. Apart from Longmuir, when the ball came up to the half forward / full forward line, Croad actually looked dangerous. That being said we would have killed to have a bloke like Farmer in the team today to get the crumb.

I'm just ****ed off that I'll have to miss the game next week, I've got a uni final exam on Saturday at 2pm (how rough is that!!!). Any suggestions (not involving failing) as to how I could still make the game???:(

The game is a nite game I think
5.40 Kick off

I'd have OUT: Waterhouse, Haines, Thornton. IN: Hayden, McPharlin, Sandilands.

Crowley and T.Longmuir will also be a chance this week. Both were one of the best players for Subiaco and West Perth respectively. Crowley kicked 3 goals and Longmuir kicked 5.

Thornton, without being overly impressive, did his job but I can't see him regaining his spot with McPharlin and Hayden to come back into the side.

I'd play McPharlin for 2 to 3 quarters next week to give him a taste of senior action before the two week break where he can play with the Sharks for another week to regain match fitness again.

I'd also consider playing Parker next week but whether he does or doesn't play he'd also need a week in the WAFL during the break to regain match fitness.

It was your midfield that got flogged today, your backmen and forwards were actually as efficient as ours were.

But 62-37 inside 50's, or whatever it was (something like that) is never going to win a game.

I reckon I could count the amount of times Freo went up the middle without running out of fingers.

Was impressed with Polak, even if he did end up getting a bit of a bath. Haddrill was great as well. Hackmanus tried hard, which is more than I could say for many of your midfielders, who just didn't look like they wanted to win a hard possession. Simmonds was good, except for a black belt he shoulda landed that wild punch ;) Lack of a decent backup ruckman hurt in the long run.

all true & valid points. Which leads to the next question Do we we need a quicker midfielder at the expense of a Troy Cook or Sean McManus

I think Koops was servicable today and while Thornton didnt stand out he was reasonable for a second game player.

Haines was frustrating, he does the hard work to get the ball then rushes it.

DJ must lift, I thought that Macca was our best Player, certainly in the midfield , Longmuir was good when the ball was down there and Croadie, Woods, Haddrill and Polly have nothing to be ashamed of.

Quiet players (by their standards) were Cookie, Pav , Koops , Grover and Medhurst.

Did we miss the Ogre today?

Other than Hase, our midfield of Bell, Headland, Pavlich, Carr, Cook, McManus etc is one of the quickest going around. The rest of our players around the ground are quick as well.

I'm not sure what the stats were but we were killed when the contested ball was there to be won. I think we would be more beneficial to go after another in-and-under midfielder capable of putting their body on the line to win the hard ball.... Mark Coughlan comes out of contract at the end of the year, doesn't he? ;)

I'd be dissapointed if Thornton was dropped, thought he was in our best 6 or 8 players. Held Junior Burgoyne quiet as well as whoever else he played on when he was moved off him later in the game (who it was has slipped my mind), had clean disposal, didn't panic and looked to be pretty quick. In fact, I think there is no chance he'll be dropped, no matter who's returning.

ITs just one game i say gotta give clive 1 more chance CC said he wouldn't be fully fit til rnd 12.

If he avoids being dropped he will be playing in what will be his 100th game and i'm sure he'll fire and find his best form again.

The delivery wasn't that flash on sunday either and he wasn't the only forward that didn't perform the whole team was down.
