Past Player Watch

Hi all, I think we all like to keep tabs on our past players who are still playing in the competition. If you are like me, I want some of them to do well like Jordan Roughead, others I am not so thrilled to succeed, maybe I am just petty, or I should have barracked for Collingwood. Anyway, add observations, and news in this thread.

This is the list, if I have forgotten anyone please add them.

Blokes we pushed out I have no real issue with - Jones? (but a dickhead), Reid, Roughead, Hrovat, Campbell. Good luck to them if they can resurrect their careers.

Blokes who had genuine reasons for leaving or whose contracts we failed to manage properly are in much the same boat, i.e. good luck to them - Hamling, possibly Harbrow, Ward

Blokes who became toxic at the club, lost interest, lost motivation or found some other excuse to desert us ... I don't want them to succeed. Those behaviours don't deserve success. They include Adams, Dahlhaus, Stringer and Higgins. Call me vindictive if you like but I was happy to see M.Talia's career fizzle out. If they have a long mediocre career I don't mind but it hurts seeing them play far better footy at another club than they ever gave us.

I note that the above list includes 4 club B&Fs at their new club. Higgins (x2), Ward and Harbrow. We've got one B&F winner from another club (Trengove) but he's a long way off that form these days. The last bloke we got from another club who won a B&F for us was Jose Romero in the mid-90s and before him Libba Sr (1991) and Peter Foster (1990).

Libba won an U19 medal and a reserves medal but never a B&F for Norf

Edit: actually I dont think he even played a senior game for Norf

Yes I know. I said the last blokes to come from another club and win a B&F for us were Romero, Libba, etc. I think Libba remains the only player to have won a Morrish, Gardiner and Brownlow (U19, Reserves, Seniors). That record won't ever be broken now, although the Morrish Medal still live on in a different form (U18 comp).
