I hear rumours that P Bowden has re signed with footscray. Actually i was talking to wrenny on msn and he said he heard it on SEN. does this mean we are going for Knobel? the draft pool is shortening.

Patrick Bowden has this afternoon advised the Western Bulldogs senior coach Rodney Eade that he wishes to continue his playing career with the Bulldogs.

Patrick’s new playing contract will be finalised in the coming days and he will begin pre season training with the rest of his team mates this Monday.

“We are very happy that Patrick has chosen to continue his career with the Bulldogs,” said Eade.

“Patrick has had other options to consider but we maintained our position all along and we are pleased that the conclusion he has now come to is that his future is at the Whitten Oval,” said Eade.

“Patrick is a talented young player who has the chance to be part of an exciting future at the Bulldogs and we are looking forward to him continuing to improve and developing into an important part of our team,” said Eade.

We're from Tigerland. Not WHERE!!!!

Now tell me Tigerboyz, why wouldnt Bowden want to play with the Tigers after being apparently upset with them, when they dropped him for the trip up to Darwin [Where he was spent his childhood and has family there].

I think it is because he was told he wouldn't be picked up.

has Hadly re-signed?

Im glad Bowden isnt going to play with us. Average player. Then again there isnt much going around.

Of those that look like being available (ie. NOT Notting, Salopek), I reckon Jason Blake would be the best get.

Versatile and if he can forgive Staff for trying to put him into the TD carpark last year then, at 23, he fits the mould we're after.

Obviously Blake's a MUCH better option than Mark Graham. Do you hear me Greg?

In Knoebel's last 2 games for Saints his combined stats were: 40 hitouts, 0 kicks, 0 marks, 0 handballs. No thanks

Perhaps, unlike Ottens, he wants to repay the faith his club has afforded him by showing some loyalty.
Out of Ottens and P Bowden there's only one knob, and it isn't Bowden.

I'm a little disappointed in missing out on bowden. He kicked nearly 30 goals this season and could have helped us improve our scoring. He and Simmonds (35 goals) would have been good forward options IMO. TW has said he wants another ruckman. Not too keen on Knoble but I will keep the faith.

The Bowdens are from Alice Springs which actually is nowhere near Darwin - probably a couple of thousand kilometres south!

There was sources close to bowden which said he was disappointed with being dropped because of the Darwin game, because he is from the NT.

But yeah, I got the locations mixed up for where spent childhood. You're right there.
