Built like a praying mantis but plays like a king bee. It’s easy to be impressed by his height (he looks taller than 194cm) and application, which is enormous. But he’s also a natural leader, an inclusive footballer, with the ability to organise those around him. More suited to defence than attack at this stage. Paul Daffey
In his own words
What type of player are you?
A tall athletic utility who can play either end of the ground. Down back, I can play as a key position defender who reads the play well to help out teammates, and I can play as a lead-up key position forward.
Which AFL player do you feel you resemble, and why?
Andrew Mackie - we both can play on tall or medium forwards and can run out of the backline.
What are your strengths as a footballer?
My skills by foot and hand, and my decision-making with the ball and reading the play without the ball.
What parts of your game would you like to improve?
My accountability of opposition players, and also my work around stoppages.
Which AFL team do you support and how did you come to barrack for them?
I support the Crows. I came to barrack for them because they were the only Adelaide team when I first became interested in footy, and their two premierships probably cemented my support.
Who has been the biggest influence on your career so far, and why?
My parents have been the greatest influence on my career to date. They have always taken me to training and games and given me feedback on my game.
