I'd rate Chapman as the best forward/midfielder in the comp i feel his done it for abit longer then ablett & if you can name a better double team your going well but i think his just the ultimate package of toughness & class & dont think he gets the recognition that Ablett gets.

He's an awesome tough nut with all the skills in the world. He has missed a few games with a hammy earlier this year, but is now getting back to his best. Trying to have the quality to man up Chappy, Gaz Jr and S.Johnson in the forward line will be a tough ask. All Cat fans love our 'Chappy'!!

I had faith. Made him the Supercoach captain, and 166 pts thanks very much. Him getting back to great form adds so much more to our side, it's options galore in our midfield/forward line. Just hope his hammys stay solid for the rest of the season.

Awesome player, but he doesn't get the recoginition of Ablett or others because he isn't as inconsistent. Before tonight Chapman had been relativily quiet. Still playing good football - no one can deny that - but hardly as damaging as he has been in the past. Against Essendon though he was awesome, and will hopefully continue that form. We need him flying against Collingwood.

was playing great footy until he did his hammy against Richmond. He has taken a few games to get his form and match fitness back but Friday night against the Bombers he was back to his best. Love his hardness at the ball and contest. If we are to win the flag this year we will need him to be playing at his best.

If I am correct (Geelongites can correct me if I'm Wrong), Crackers Keenan had an article in the Geelong Addy criticizing Chapman for his rebuke of the team earlier in the year. I personally think that there is probably no one more qualified to speak in this regard than Chapman. I have never seen him shirk an issue. He is always at the bottom of packs. He is so honest that you could trust him with your daughter (maybe your daughter). I have never seen him look lazy on the field. I could not say that about everyone in the blue and white hoops. I think that Jr. is a great player but I think that Chapman's field kicking and kicking for goal is far superior to Jr's. The commentators on Friday night noted that he just does not waste the ball. He may not be Captain but he plays like a real leader. A leader by example.

I think a few home truths by Chappy started the ball rolling.:thumbsu:

I have little doubt chappy will be in the leadership group next year. A very determined, nuggety type player...reminds me a lot of leigh mathews. It's great to see the plaudits from other clubs supporters, and for those who like the focus of Paul Chapman then keep an eye on Max Rooke as well, just as determined and seems to enjoy pain.

What a champ. Gives 110% everyweek.

I think we forget how valubale this bloke is up forward as well. Watched the 2004 highlights DVD and his goal smarts that year were unbelievable. I think Ablett should rotate with Chappy through the forward line 2.1 time basis.

Chappy is a gun, tough, good in the air for a little bloke and our most effective user of the ball when he gets it in his hands.
He is a leader on and off the field and I can't understand how he is not in the leadership group.
Whilst Bartel and G.Ablett have had most of the kudos this year,if not for his hamstring injury would be right up there as our best player this year. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Chapman is in the leadership group, just doesn't have a title.

Go CATS!!
