What would he be remebered as after he retires. he's been in our top 5 players now for over 3 years, but still doesn't have any accolades.

Gun player who (arguably) singlehandedly sparked the Grand Final tilt with the spray he gave the group after the Roos game. Would have to go down as a real champion of the club, IMO.

He's only 26.. He might have another 5 - 10 years in him before he retires, who knows what he will accomplish in that time period, it's a bit early to decide what you think he will be remembered as after he retires don't you think?

A champion. Ask supporters who they are wary of when playing the Cats, and a large number will say Chapman. Even when we weren't that great, Chapman was still on everyones radar. I remember when we were playing the Dockers last year and Chapman was out injuried; so many supporters were happy because Chapman is a brute. When he is on fire, when he is playing well, he destroys teams.

If he can have a good injury-free year again, we will get back good ole dominating shiny chappy.

Chappy has well and truly inherited Garry Hocking's 'ferocious little ball-getting bastard' throne, and I couldn't be happier for him. He gave the side a spray when they needed it, and we reaped the reward. At the end of his career he'll easily be spoken of in the same breath as Paul Couch, Garry Hocking, etc.

Paul Chapman - GFC LEGEND!

Won the club's best and fairest in 2006...

Spot on!!:thumbsu:

The guy, along with Mooney, is the heart and soul of GFC. I love his work and think he'll be considered a very, very, very good AFL player after his career finishes.

He can kick for goal to save my life anytime:D

why isnt there a option for " That bloke that hung on tredders in the 07 Granny " ???

Why i ask...... i think when/if im 80+ ill still have a hard on just thinking back about it ;)

There should be another option - "which club was dumb enough to take Mick Mansfield off us so we could get Chappy with that pick?"

Micky Mansfield was coming to the end of his time at Geelong anyways - he was more than a bit miffed at Leigh Colbert's rapid rise up the club leadership ladder from all reports. He was a great servant of the club though - one of the few who showed any f*cking balls from our side in the back-to-back debacles of '94/'95. I know we played great opposition both years, but our merit was deplorable...

But yeah, for what it's worth I agree. Carlton - sucked in!:D

I think we can add GAJ to this list with Chapman and Mooney. All 3 of them will be with Geelong the rest of their footballing careers, and none of them would want it any other way. Abletts intensity a nd passion for football and the GFC really stepped up a notch in 2007, as well as the rest of his game stepping up as well.
