Interesting to hear that he will be looking for a coaching job in 2012, would he be worth chasing for some new ideas as our club seems to have become stagnant?

Only after we need a new coach. Unless Neil Craig has quit or been sacked – right at this moment we have a coach.

Can we have both? Sort of like what Port have with Choco and Laidley - while Primus is suspended Choco is apparently taking over the midfield and Laidley is taking the reins.

If we have the money to afford it, imagine having two great senior coaches sharing the role. They could be a powerful duo, if we found the right combination. On the flip side, sharing leadership could go seriously wrong due to clashing personalities and differering ideas.

Just a thought.

Yeah I would love to have him as our teams coach in 2012. If the Crows manage to gain his services I'd imagine some players would seriously consider returning home from their current clubs or move here to play for us.

I'm not sure about Roos. I have doubts about quality coaches going to other clubs after they win a flag with their first club - exception L Matthews. Do they lose that hunger?

I don't think that's true at all:confused:. I thought that Roos had publicly stated that he's leaving the game after this season. Plus if he wanted a coaching job for next year he'd have one at Sydney for as long as he'd want it.

Obviously he would be a very good candidate.

but that's a long way off, and unless things improve we'll have someone else long before then.

Don't know about that, I have no difficulty believing the current Crows management will give Craig the remainder of his contract to show what he can do. It seems like the perfect timing to me. Midway through 2011 the club would know what they were looking at doing and could start enticing Roos to the position.

However, I was under the impression that Roos was going to the US, has this changed recently or something?

Of course, I'm continue to blindly hope that Craig will give me any reason this year to think that 2011 will be different.

er, in what way?

Blight lost his hunger after the first in 97, by the third year with us he had absolutely none. His cupboard was bare. So he retired, only to be lured away from the Gold Coast to coach St Kilda. Silly move.

Only successful modern day coach to have moved from one club after winning a premiership to another and doing the same thing was Leigh Matthews. I think if we change coaches, a coach that doesn't have a premiership to their name is more likely to win us a premiership than a recycled one (statistically speaking of course).

Paul Roos would be a sensation and there certainly would not be a lack of hunger

Roos has always stated that he was likely to be a one club coach so IMO if he took on another club he would do it for the challenge of winning a 2nd flag with a 2nd club

You and I agree on something Jen. The other problem is none of the current assistants really excite me.

Happy Mothers Day.

KG wrote about the rumour in his "strike me pink" column, his mail was that Roos is going to take a year off and then will be looking for another coaching job in 2012.
