Was interviewed on Sports 927 this morning and indicated that he was looking for an assistant coaching position next year. If Voss decides to continue playing or have a year in the media then I reckon Williams would be a very good candidate for our vacant assistant coaching position.

He appears to be on the ball and have a good idea of what is required to be successful in the AFL. Has playing in a recent premiership side and was a goal kicking midfielder with a fair bit of flair. Was disciplined as a player and also captained his club. A pretty good package.

Hmmm... that's interesting. While he never had real pace, he was a runner and was able to bomb the ball on the run from outside 50m to kick goals. That would be rather handy for our middys to learn hey?! :thumbsu:
He could teach some of our boys a thing or two...
Still, if Voss was available, I'd go for him first, then Williams.

Whenever I've heard him interviewed he generally came across as a little slow. Did he interview well this morning?

You're not getting mixed up with Silvagni?!! I think Williams is always careful when he talks and gives well considered answers, but I would not describe him as slow at all. I thought he interviewed very well and appeared very enthusiastic for a future assistant coaching role.

Is Stewie Maxfield in Melbourne, did he shift back here to be close to his kids?

I always liked Maxfield as a player. I'd prefer him over Willo.

IMO, the best guy for the job is Voss, however I heard he didn't even get a look in at Geelong. He came down to Melbourne last week, had interviews/meetings with Carlton and St Kilda.

It is in the Herald Sun today, so why are we not mentioned ?? Are we already behind the 8-ball due to having to waste time on the petition/s ??

Thoughts ??

Would you come to Geelong as a coach of any form after what has happened recently ???
