23 goals in the last 5 games since being moved back to an almost full time forward. He still manages to get a lot of the ball and set up others as well, so I reckon keep him there for the rest of the season. It is where he belongs.

ONLY put him in the midfield if ABSOLUTELY needed.

great thing is he's been humble enough to admit that he hasn't always been a leader and kind of forgot how to play as a forward, but has shown he's got it all back. credit to he and ross for their relationship from day dot.

Considering our draw for the rest of the year, I think he is a good chance for 60+ and another AA

Imagine him behind a full strength midfield!

Fye, morabito, hill , Mundy (with fitness), barlow --> PAV

So after Pav dominated in the forward line from 2005-2007, we finally learn 5 years later that he is in fact a forward and not a midfielder. While he was solid in the midfield (good at stoppages, good with the ball, OK at spreading and poor in defensive run), it just feels like we have wasted 5 years of potential dominance from Pavlich. Yeah, we didn't have a great midfield but we don't have a great midfield now and Pavlich is having significant influence.

The 1.9-2 goals p.g. average doesn't do him or his talent justice. Had potential to end up with Carey like numbers if he had played in a good team or if we had played him full time forward instead of wasting him in the midfield (Thanks Harvey )

Pav's stint in the midfield made me forget just how much of a modern day great forward pav unquestionably is.

The question I keep asking myself, how many more years has the great man(pav) got?
Is he chance to play for another 3-4 yrs barring injury?

Pavlich and Mayne are playing excellent footy together. Hope it maintains! Still need one more tall forward up there which will either be Kepler/Clarke/???

Would say it is Pavlich + New Midfield + Forward Line = results. Without De Boer standing up, Pav still plays midfield.
Anyone could have stood up last year and allowed Pav to play forward. In fact, Fyfe, who is now out of the side, did stand up. Mundy for the first half was in great form. The midfield available was arguably much better than what we have now. Instead, Pavlich played midfield from the start of the season through to the end.

Sheer idiocy, no two ways about it.

His MCG form is probably the most surprising

Averaging 5.5 a game at the G this year - pretty sweet stats

That aside, he is a power forward and we should leave him down there for the entirety of his career

Suma said yesterday that Pav's days of playing in the midfield for extended bouts are history. The odd cameo and that's all.

Yes....it's amazing how having a quality relaible target forward straightens the game up. You can see this occuring even at amatuer level when a team has a target up forward. Pav is playing brilliant footy at the moment, and I have to say that I had sort of forgotten just how good a forward he is. I'm hoping he can run out another 3-4 seasons playing full time forward. Couldn't be happier to see him dominating again.........

He Was AA in 2002 as a defender believe it or not. So I wouldnt say 2002 wasnt a wasted year for Pav.:D

Still Im certain Hes going to be a 300 game player and 600 maybe 650 goal career with us. Nothing to be ashamed of. David Neitz kicked 600 goals and played 300 games for melbourne.

For Some reason Connolly did get the best out of Pav.

Fantastic form by Pav lately, it's truly satisfying watching him and Mayne play some great footy up forward. here's hoping he can crack the 60 goal mark again this year. Even better, if Mayne could get up to 40 or 50 that would be awesome too!
