Guess who we are aiming for?
YEP!! I couldn't belive it but it's a real posibility.
Aparently he is sick of being blamed for everthing in the press and has been copping a bagging from fans:confused: .
Makes little sense to me he always looks ok on the field, the acusation is that he goes missing in big games.

I dunno what we would have to give away for him? But I'm damned sure it'll be a lot more than stinger.

Strangely, this would not surprise me.

As I said in another thread, Pavlich has hit a bit of a wall with his career. He is being run around as a tall midfielder, when his best position is CHF. Connolly doesn't appear to have any particular passion for him, and I think now is our best chance, given Freo's need for a defensive midfielder like Stenglein,

OK RooDog and naughty monkey can confirm this but that is the same thing I heard. Did you get it from your usual source?

Any word on whether it's actually a possibility Stiffy, or are we just chasing ghosts?

Pardon my trolling, but id suggest a first round and stenglien for pavlich and a 3rd round.
OK with me.
But more like Stenglien + Perrie + 2nd round
Or someone of quality to port for carr then Carr and stenglien for pav.

Early days yet but we are having a fair crack at it. I know that our 1st round pick will be involved and exchange of other players and picks if it indeed goes any further.

We are having a fair crack. Whether we walk away with the good remain to be seen

Through a 3rd party but yes

yes it is exactly what you told me earlier stiffy!!! maybe with a few different picks though

From a freo perspective i think its highly doubtful that Pav would be at Adelaide next year, hes signed up fro the next 3 years and you would need to come up with a hell of a lot to secure him, Steinglein and Pick 7 wont cut it , if you managed to work out a 3 way deal so that J.Carr and Steinglein ended up at Freo it might be entertained but id imagine Freo would turn that down as well.
Anyway i think its more than likely Steinglein will be at West coast next year for a 1st rounder and a fringe player like Adkins.

Pure speculation:
this is what I'd be content with:

McLeod to Port
Stinga to Freo
Carr to Freo
Pavlich to ADL
And a pick or so coming our way to even things out, poss from port.

Basically give up what we can do without, to get someone who perhaps we can't. this trade does not hurt us near or medium term.

Very happy with that AND it's an all win trade.
BUT port are hard to deal with. If they dont get a flag this year they would do something drastic while their window of opportunity is still open, could happen.

Mcleod might deliver them a flag, they would play ball in that situation. they give up carr + 2nd rnd pick.

all guess work though

If we pull that off it would be the crows biggest gain by far

We would, but it would be worth it.

I hope to hell we can pull this trade off.

Imagine Pav at CHF for us next year :D
id prefer to see him at CHB and Kenny at CHF, that way we can use his skills when rebounding from defence and he can use his big body to help out against bigger forwards, if that fails then switch him to CHF

Would love to see Pav at AFC next year, but would hate to give away our 1st round pick in the process (unless we get another 1st round pick back for another trade - highly unlikely).

That said, Pav is only 22 and would give us 10+ years of service, so maybe a 1st round pick could be used on him (especially considering that aside form the first handful, it's meant to be a weak draft).

I've convinced myself.

ok im even entering a debate on dockers players now, but i do take an interest in the shockers.

i think u guys are a silly chance to pull this off, pavlich has copped alot of critism in WA. people have been calling him soft and alot of fans at games are beginning to realise that as john barnes says "he looks like tarzan, plays like jane". having said that, he is rated super highly at the dockers (like u say stenglien at crows) and will be the next captain (also like stenglien, u say).
it would be a HUGE trade. i wouldnt worry giving up your first round pick, pavlich is only 22 and a fair dinkum gun. he is well worth it, he could lead your club very well.

it would take alot to dislodge him from freo. definitly carr/ stenglien (i presume the dockers would prefer carr) and another quality player/ first round pick.

I think thats the general feeling at AFC. As I said to the bloke today, I will forgive a lot of things if we pull this off and I would give ou 1st rounder in a second for Pav. He is only 22 a gun and would no doubt be the next captain of the club after Roo:)

A silly chance but you never know

Pavlich has been criticised for not taking too many contested marks. Do you think that's a fair point? I'd say a CHF's bread and butter would be in contested marks.

That's why he'd be more likely to make a good tall HFF rather than a CHF.
