How much if any will Pav's forward playing style differ from the years he's booted 50+ goals in a season?

Will Lyon utilize Pav's elite running powers to run back into space similar to how buddy is being used, or the traditional power forward role?

I'm thinking it might be the buddy model.

Thats a good question, I honestly think that he would be best in the Franklin role and would be harder for our openents to lock down than if he played as apower forward.

I am more concerned with our ability to deliver the ball cleanly to him.

I think the Buddy model if Pav's body can sustain it. The fact he has slimmed down suggests that is the role he will be playing.

However if he starts getting soft tissue injuries then the power forward will beckon.

Pav has a big booming kick, possibly even a bigger kick than Buddy so it means he can afford to roam at 55+ and still bomb goals.

yep. with Ross' full ground press there will plenty of running for the forwards back towards the 50 and picking up the ball on the run and bombing from 55 or (hopefully) closer. Means delivery likely to be more from handballs or picking up a ball bouncing in front so delivery may be less from pinpoint kicks.

I don' think Pav has ever been an exceptional high mark, not like Cloke or Petrie (Kennedy) anyway. Past dodgy shoulders also. I recall plenty of leading up to the wing and being very mobile while still large enough to push off and create space in a marking contest. He is also really clever on the ground. Looking forward to seeing it again.

1. Pav see ball
2. Pav get/catch ball
3. Pav kick ball through big sticks
4. Pav go apeshit.

frustrates me how so many discussions about players form, possible playing positions and fitness end up being DT/SC threads - or someone butts in and asks about it

keep it to the DT/SC thread guys :)

(not that it's turned in to a DT/SC thread, yet haha)

It'll be both. He can do both, that's why he's one of the best going around, and why in my biased opinion he has it over guys like Riewoldt.
