Pay tv on computer

Ive been told that if you have a capture card you can connect your pay tv cable to your card directly or via splitter and watch foxtel/optus on your computer????

Any info ???

Yeh just plug the video out from your box to the 'video in' of your your capture card, and the 'audio out' from your box to the 'line in' or 'aux' of your sound card.

Select 'composite' input instead of 'tuner' in your viewer proggy. and make sure your sound inpuy isnt muted by windows.

You'll have to change channels via the pay box though.

Yep you can do it. I have just bought an MSI TV @nywhere TV tuner. Its a relatively new tv card so the 3rd party software support is quite poor at the moment. I don't have cable tv but I know you can do it.

Whys that? I've used it to capture some programs to my PC, then converted them directly to VCD disks. Great stuff.

I've heard you can actually get all the channels, even the ones you didn't pay for, by downloading some codecs or decoders or something. Anyone hear anything similar?

Dunno bout that mate. You'd have to trick the decoder box into receiving the channelss, not the PC, as far as I know.

You can do this. I don't know how, but my friend did it once!

There are programs which do it for US cable, but they need to be modified to work on Australian encryption..

we all know that Leadtek Winview TV2000 XP Deluxe Tv tuner with FM Radio and time shifting IS THE BEST

i dont have pay tv but...

ohh at the swap meet i saww a TV SATALITE TV TUNER CARD in action. Preetty good.
