I hear the crows could get John Paynter and Michaels Aish's sons under the father son rule in the future. Does anyone know much about these guys. By the sound of it Ross Gibbs son is going to be a great get if the crows get him under this rule as well.

John Paynter's son Seb played in Sturt's losing Under 17 Grand Final side and if my memory serves me correctly he's only about 15.

yes his 15, in year 10 at PAC, was invited to play with their firsts but his dad wasnt keen for him too.

In terms of picking up both in one yr, can we do that? I know u need to give up a 3rd round pick for one F/S pick but arent sure what happens if there is another one in the same yr. Can anyone shed light on this?

I stand to be corrected but I think we have to use our 2nd round pick in order to get second FS.

Correct.

If there are 2 player eligible to be picked up under the father son rule in one year you give up both 2nd and 3rd round picks for them
Can we trade for more picks and use on on father/son?

I would like to see trading of draft picks before and during the draft. Do it by telephone at the draft tables during it.
Make it much more exciting.
This set position stuff bugs me. For example, if we wanted Griffen real bad, say he is there at #3 what is wrong with us saying ok lets gets this lad and making a deal to make it happen...say our 1st and 2nd rounder . for #3. Stuff like that.

You mean like they do it in the NBA draft, where you can trade away players and or draft picks to get up the draft order if there is someone there that you like?????

Yeah, nothing like seeing teams draft a player, have them put on their cap, see them with a goofy smile on their face :D , then have the team trade that player 15 minutes later somewhere else. Always a hit at the NBA Draft. :)

In all seriousness though, it would make the draft itself much more exciting with the always lingering possibility that a blockbuster trade could be triggered at any moment. Griffen may not get past no.2, but what a scene it would be if he was still undrafted at no.5 or no.6, seeing the crows making a mad scramble on the phone to trade for him, convincing the Bulldogs to take pick 8 and Burton or something. It's the sort of thing that might get the draft televised again.
