Pen licenses.

I also should be in the pencil brigade, but the teacher got sick of waiting. Luckily I mostly type these days.

I never got my pen licence, not because I had messy writing or made lots of mistakes, but because I changed schools from grade 3 to grade 4. In my first school pens weren't allowed until grade 4, but in the school I went to in grade 4, everybody graduated onto pen sometime in grade 3. Hence, on the first day of school, I was presented with a pen, but no pen licene. Shock! Horror!

So yes, I too, technically should be still using a pencil.

I failed my pen license test.:o  Anyone who's read my terrible handwriting would know why.

I'm in the same boat as you, Porthos.
I cannot stand writing. I am five times as quick on the keyboard than what I am with a pen or pencil. It sucks, really. All exams must be done with pen and pencil. Which I guess is fair enough. But, the English exam I did last year (yr 10) was bad. I usually like to voice my opinion in a more advanced mode, meaning I tend to write more than the required total. Therefore, I didn't finish my exam.

The three hours or so they give you in year 12 will scare me. Whilst doing my exam, I will just see this deadline hanging over my head.

For the record, I finished grade five with seven stars (Ten stars meant you were allowed to write in pen). However, in grade six you had to write in pen - So since then I've been writing in pen.

Got mine late in grade 4.. probably should have got it earlier but I went overseas for 6 weeks and my teacher forgot to give it to me before hand..

IMHO its ridiculous enough that they have pen licences but red pen licences:o:p Crazy.

Why do people need a licence to write with Pens?

On another similar topic - I remember in grade 3 we had a table for the 'advanced' kids, and one for the everyday bogans. I'm proud to say I was the advanced table - but what about the kids who were made to feel like rejects? Pretty unfair really. Did anyone else have this?

we didnt have an 'advanced table' as such, but we had groups from 1 - 4 (4 being the highest) for each subject. i was in group 4 for everything other than art and music... lol

Our were called the red, blue, yellow and green tables; but the effect was the same - and everyone knew that was the order of ability they were based on.
I somehow got a spot on the red table, even though there were blues and yellows who had their pen licenses before I did.
