Another kangaroo court ay topjars? Just because a Liberal politician makes accusations under parliamentary privilige doesn't make a person guilty. I see Howard has even taken the step to give his mate some time off while this is sorted out. It looks like a case of homophobia at its worst.
If the accusations are proven then sure, use all the law to put him away, but until then maybe you should keep any homophobic rantings or accusations to yourself unless you have proof and then post it here too.

Too true SLH. Where has there been ANY proof about these allegations? The police looked into the matter a few years back and gave Kirby the all clear. Now we have Heffernan saying it was only a technicality that saved him. The police denied this is the case, and stated that he was innocent. Case closed. Now Heffernan wants to re-open it again. Fair enough, but he is being very accusationary for someone without proof. I think he should be sacked if these allegations are again thrown out. He has a real bee in his bonnet this fella and I wouldn't be at all unhappy to see him go.
 
When are people going to realise that being homosexual doesn't make you a paedophile, they should do some research & they will see that most paedophiles are actually heterosexual.
 
Heffernan's agenda is two-fold

1) Create a massive distraction away from the present Governments difficulties, and,

2) To hound homosexuals out of all public offices.

Heffernan is a bellicose ignorant bigot of the old school -

- He thinks all homosexuals are also paedophiles, because they are homosexual.

- He has a vendetta against Kirby and has pursued him over this matter for a number of years now, he simply refuses to accept that Kirby has no case to answer and the allegations against him remain completely un-substantiated.

I think what drives Heffernan is that the mere sight of Kirby makes Heffernan boil over with rage and hate and fear and loathing.

Ya see, Kirby is not only a ****ter, but also an extremely successful human being, quite possible the most distinguished lawyer Austrlia has ever produced.

In Heffernan's mind, homosexuals are pathetic tragic freaks who are losers and sinners.

Kirby, by his mere existence, shows Heffernan's opinions up for the ignorant, looney, stupid and malicious rantings that they truly are.

Kirby is an abomination in the eyes of Heffernan - and Heff is determined to drive him out of public office and to ruin his career - BY FAIR MEANS OR FOUL

Nile would never use parliamentary priviledge to utter unsubstantiated slurs against a fellow citizen who cannot fight back.

Heffernan truly is a nasty, malicious, sleazy and cruel individual.

Nile, by comparison, is a man of moral righteousness, but he ain't no dirty tricks merchant.

Heffernan is altogether more dangerous and sinister.

Think it's about time for you to make a formal apology and admit that if Justice Kirby has not been a homosexual and Heffernen a Liberal stooge you wouldn't have made 'your' misguided and slanderous allegations.
Come clean Topjars and admit your prejudices.

In the course of my professional life, I have had clients from just about every social structure, all races, and so many sexual persuasions that I shudder to recall them.
The homosexuals that were clients of mine, were usually the most reserved of people, but I never found them to be "secretive", whereas some I felt uneasy about, have in some cases, been brought to justice.

However life experience of this kind is hardly conclusive, let alone definitive, so Sandie, I'd be interested in perusing the sources on which you base the above comments.
 
Without wanting to get at all involved in the Chris/Sandie issues, I work in the area and Sandie is right that a majority of child abusers are heterosexual and a majority of cases are men abusing young girls.

Whether it's as big a majority as heterosexuals are in the general population I don't know.

I was just asking as politely as possible, coz she's easy to upset, where I would find the sources of her statements.
Nothing malicious in that request, just a simple enquiry about proof.

I think you maybe the best person to answer his questions, seeing as you are in that field of work.

I can not repsond to certain posters here because I will get banned again, seems a bit unfair that they can make posts about me, but when I respond to them I get banned.

Anyway not going to let that happen again, I have put them on iggy so I don't get tempted.

Chris, I might be able to find you some journals on this subject as I have done a bit of research into suicide by same sex attracted young people, so there may be a bit of info somewhere on the 'true' figures regarding peodophile numbers from the straight or gay communities.
